It’s my bloggy birthday! {giveaway} CLOSED

(source)

I’ve been blogging since 2006, when I got pregnant with Henry and wanted an easy way to keep in touch with family.

But this latest adventure that is Life.Rearranged is ONE YEAR OLD today!!!

::cue singing::

I CAN.NOT BEEE-LIEVE IT! (if your kids watch Little Einsteins, you totally know how to read that).

This crazy, hair brained idea…that terrified me…that had me lying awake in bed at night wondering if I wanted to take on a long term fundraising project…

…wondering if I could get people to guest blog…

…the idea that had me second guessing every step…

…the idea that would be a VERY public failure if it didn’t work out…

ONE YEAR LATER…we’re still here!  Woohoo!!!

Can you believe that in ONE YEAR this little corner of the internet has:

GOD IS SO GOOD.

The end.

There’s just no other way to put it.

Okay, not really.  You know I’m more long winded than that, right?

(source)

Every party needs presents, right?

(source)

And balloons.

(source)

And cake.  Always, always, always cake.

Because heaven will be filled with little moutains of cake that we will nibble on as we please.  And that cake will be fat free, calorie free.  (In case you were wondering).

I’m pretty sure of all this too.  ;)

But since this is all virtual and such, you’ll have to settle for pictures of balloons and cake…

BUT NOT THE PRESENTS!  :)

I thought that for my bloggy birthday, I’d give y’all a chance to win a couple of my favorite things lately!

May Your Cup Overflow - Psalm 23:5 Framed Canvas Print

And I’ve told y’all before how much I lovey love love my May Your Cup Overflow Canvas Print, right?

As in, I just kinda stand in my kitchen and stare at it sometimes.  Which I realize is borderline creepy.

One Thousand Gifts - Ann Voskamp

And I’ve raved to the moon and back about how much I want to sit in a coffee shop for hours and be besties with Ann Voskamp after reading her ah-mazing book, right?

Well, DaySpringhas so graciously agreed to give one of the gorgeous, HUGE, *already framed* canvas ($54.99 value) AND Ann’s book ($12.99 value) to one of you!!!

(Isn’t DaySpringawesome?!…Everyone say: “Thank you Dayspring….!”)

I’d really love it if you subscribed to my feed.  But I won’t make that a requirement.

And I’d really love if you took the ultra quick survey if you haven’t already.  But that’s not an entry either.

And I’d be STOKED if you gave a buck or two to the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation.  But that won’t make your chances of winning any better.  ;)

All you have to do is a leave a comment telling me what your favorite birthday memory is.  That’s it.  One entry per person.  Crazy easy.

I hope y’all have enjoyed the last year as much as I have.  I’m SUPER excited for this next one!

(I don’t really say “y’all” in real life, but for some reason it seems to be really appropriate for blogging.  I’m weird.  Just go with it.)

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

Well, you could say “Ustedes.” I’m a y’all person, but I often ponder why there isn’t some other way of indicating the plural “you” in English.

    Happy Bloggy Birthday!!!

My favorite memory is when I came home from a visit with my family and my husband had a tower of presents ready and wrapped for me. He is ordinarily not a gift person. And these were even more special because I was pregnant with Sedona and he included a video camera so I could record all her firsts!

When my 1-day-old baby Tyler got his ultrasound taken of his kidneys and the doctors discovered that he did in fact have 2 functioning kidneys. For so many months prior we had heard he definitely only had one that functioned and that one may not function at full capacity. So Happy Birthday to me!!

My favorite birthday memory is the party I had on my 7th birthday. My neighborhood friends and I danced to my new Happy Days record and my dad showed us Woody Woodpecker cartoons projected on a screen from a reel-to-reel projector!! I was sooooo cool that day! (I’m totally dating myself, huh?!?)

My favorite birthday memory is from when I was 7. I always hated riding in a boat. I don’t know why, but I was so afraid of boats! My mom and dad took me to my grandmothers and told me they were going fishing in our boat. Of course, I didn’t want to go. So a couple of hours later they came to pick me and took me home. I walked through the door to a surprise birthday party! It was the best! I will never forget that day.

My favorite birthday memory is from just this past weekend… and it wasn’t even my birthday. My (new!)fiance, Ian, was celebrating his birthday and we decided to take a walk around the campus of our alma mater, Marywood University, in Scranton, PA. We were reminiscing about all our wonderful memories from college and how we met as we walked around. I couldn’t have been more surprised when we walked into the Commons in the middle of campus and he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him! It was the most wonderful birthday EVER and it wasn’t even my own birthday!!!

When I turn 12 I had a reverse surprise birthday party- none of my guests knew it was happening! I went to each of their homes and woke them up (SURPRISE!), went had a donut birthday cake, watched my favorite movie in our pajamas and opened my presents (that each guest’s parent purchased for me!)
    Unique and one to remember!

    Happy Bloggy Birthday Jeanett!
I think my favorite birthday memory would have to be my 30th.. Although we had planned to go to Jamaica, my 1st baby was born 2 months before, so Jamaica was on hold (still is) lol.. Bu,t I have to say having an almost 2 month old little on my 30th was the best present of all… Really, just family, friends and my fresh, new girlfriend is what memories are made of and that did it for me!

Favourite? That’s tough. I often remember my 10th birthday though – we went for a family drive (not exactly top-notch fun when you’re 10) and ended up at a house that had puppies for sale. A puppy was all that I wanted in the whole world. I was over the moon!

Also – Happy Bloggy Birthday! Just so you know, your words, the words of your guest bloggers, and everything you’ve been doing with NILMDTS…well I feel very thankful to have stumbled upon your blog many, many months ago.

    Happy birthday!!

My favorite memory is rather recent. A couple of years ago I just had a small get together to enjoy dinner Red Robin. Twenty people showed up! My birthday is in December and my typical birthday celebration had about 5 people at it. I felt so, so loved. It was wonderful.

i don’t have to win… just an afternoon with ann at her house. that would be perfect. i just want to sit at her feet.
she’s more than welcome to play with my hair if she wants.

    sigh.

my husband surprised me for my 40th with a luncheon with all my friends. then he whisked me away for a week in vegas (the last place i’d ever imagine him to want to go, but whatevs). just before christmas. no kiddles. it was heaven.

oh but hey… if i win?? i’m totally passing on the book and paying it forward. it’s my favorite book in the world right now (well, just after the bible).

One of my favorite birthdays was my 20th. My best friends in college made beautiful invitations for our friends for a “Picnic under the Sycamores.” It was a place on campus that the school often held events…a grassy area, under some sycamore trees. It was a lovely afternoon with tasty treats, precious friendships, and a sweet game of extreme bocce ball. :) It was a season that the Lord graciously surrounded me with caring friends when I needed it deeply!

    Happy Blogging Birthday!

My favorite was my 13th, it was a big slumber party that my mom went all out on. We had so much fun that we ended up at Dunkin Doughnuts in the middle of the night.
But I have to say that my birthdays mean much more now that I am a mom. Every year for the last 14 I have spent my birthday either pregnant or nursing a baby and it is amazing to see how our family has changed over the years and I feel so blessed to see our 8 children and know that I don’t need a big party just them!

My 6th birthday. I had forgotten it was my birthday (as if that’s ever happened again!) until I came home from school & the loveliness of all things good: my mom’s homemade German chocolate cake greeted me at the door. Then I was sad I hadn’t gotten to wear the crown & red cape that the curly haired birthday boy had sported earlier in the afternoon. But German chocolate cake doesn’t ever disappoint!
