He’s Non Stop. But hot dang, he’s cute. {Huggies SlipOns}

“This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Huggies, but all my opinions are my own. #HuggiesSlipOn #pmedia http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO

You guys.

Can we talk about O-Bo for a second?

I’m not a first time mom.  This isn’t my first rodeo.  Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.

None of my kids are those sweet quiet little souls that sit quietly doing quiet things while being quiet quietly.

They are ALL active and loud.

Even little Jilly Bean.  Oh yes, even her.

So keep that in mind when I tell you that Owen…?

KID IS INSANE.

Happy.

Smiley.

Loveable.

IMG_0387

MISCHEVIOUS.

NON STOP.

NAUGHTY. PORKCHOP.

The kid seriously never stops.

He is into every. thing.  Everything.  Constantly.  You cannot take your eyes off of him for one millisecond or he will be into something or eating glass.

I’m pretty sure he knows it too.  He has this little twinkle in his eye, a wide two toothed grin, and then runs (RUNS!) away giggling.  GIGGLING!

He is exhausting.

But you can’t even get mad.

Because of that twinkle in his eye.  Because it’s really kind of funny.  And a lot cute.

“Ay!  Owen!”  But always with a laugh.  Because it’s impossible to not crack up at the kid.

IMG_0397

 Because baby’s got SWAGGER.

“O BO!”

All the live long day.

“Owen!!!!  STOP!  No!  Put that down! Close that drawer!  Stop eating the dog food!  Get out of the dishwasher!  Put that spatula back!!!  Give me that fork! ACK!”

Non. Cotton. Picking. Stop.

And always with a smile.

Exhibit A.

This is how he kept hydrated on vacation.

I may or may  not have seen him drinking from a puddle of sprinkler water on the patio concrete.

More than once.

Sippy cups are for babies.

PicMonkey Collage2

Exhibit B.

He not only walks…he not only runs…he CLIMBS.

CLIMBS.

The other day I looked over to find him scaling my nightstand.  His fat foot on the shelf, and his grubby hands reaching for my Kindle.

I will point out that as soon as I snapped the shutter on that picture of him standing in the chair, the whole thing tipped over and he faceplanted.

And then got up and toddled off to wreak more havoc elsewhere.

No bigs.
PicMonkey Collage3

Exhibit C.

Did I mentioned he CLIMBS?

Tess had food.  I don’t even know what it was.  So he climbed up the foot and leg massager thing until he got to her.

Did I mention he turned one last week?

As in, he’s literally 12 months old?

And here I thought the baby of the family might hold off on walking for a while…

So you can imagine that keeping clothes and diapers on this kid can be a challenge.

I had the opportunity to try out the new Huggies Slip On diapers, and O wore them all week on vacation.  They slide on so you can wrangle his wiggly-ness into them easily, and you just rip apart the sides to get them off.

Bonus: no tempting tabs he can just pull off and run free, if you catch my drift.

Plus, they are soft and thin so they mold and fold and keep up with his constantly moving tush. (The official way to say that is Trusted Leak Protection, but I’m not official like that.)

If you’d like to try them out, there’s a Target coupon for $2 off HERE.

But even better, I’m giving away a $25 Target gift card to one of y’all!

You don’t have to use it for diapers.  Unless you want to.  It’s Target…pretty sure you won’t have to try very hard to spend that, right?

To enter, leave a comment below telling me what the craziest/funnest/fondest memory of your own little mover and shaker.  (If you’re not a parent yet, it’s okay…tell me about a niece, nephew, friend…and if you don’t have any of those, just tell me how cute O-Bo is.  That’ll do.)

One entry per person.  Open to US residents only (lo siento those of you who live elsewhere).  I’ll pull one random commenter on Saturday.

Good luck!

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

i think this is my first time commenting, but i’ve really enjoyed your blog and reading about your beautiful and very real family. I feel like your youngest grew up SO quickly in the last few months!

My baby is just two months so no big movements yet! i’m just happy she looks at me with smiles and coos, but a little scared of childproofing everything when she starts moving.

Ahhh! I also hoped mine would be a late walker but no such luck! Wouldn’t you know it he was toddling around at 9 months and was also a climber and into EVERYTHING!!!! Alas, those days are over but he is still into EVERYTHING at age 7! But mostly food. ;)

I could have written this post about my second son, Brice! He is literally doing all the same stuff (although he’s 14 months)! It is exhausting, but he is so sweet and such a lover boy that I really can’t ever get mad at him. We also had to switch to Huggies Slip Ons because I couldn’t keep him occupied long enough to get a clean diaper on him before he was trying to climb off the changing table. Thanks for articulating (and showng photos) of this stage!

He is so cute! I loved when my daughter started walking and had that big proud of herself smile. My little guy is 4mo so it won’t be ling until he is into everything like your little one.

We brought 11 month old twins home from Ethiopia in 2011. At 13 months, they were crawling out of their cribs, over baby gates, on tables, chairs, counters…you name it! They were in full on toddler beds by 15 months! The icing had to be, though, when Hanna attempted to climb over the second story banister that goes strait down into our foyer – yikes! This set off a month long project of closing in that area and making a new room! Always said a 5 bedroom house would be ideal for our crew of 7!

No movers and shakers of my own yet, but my nieces are WILD! My sister-in-law recently shared a video of the three of them (ages 1, 3, and 5) dancing/singing/beating on drums to some rock song – hilarious!

My fav is actually the stuff they say. Kids are hilarious! The funniest thing my son ever said to me was, “Whadja do with your penis?” He was about 3. Seriously, I nearly died laughing!

My son (due to arrive in ~1month) is cracking me up with getting rowdy around midnight, keeping me awake, and then getting hiccups

My favorite movement memory of my nine-month old daughter is her adorable rocking. She can’t crawl yet, but to see her get up on all fours and rock back and forth- to quote you- I die! It is THE cutest thing. She is also a little tyrant and can roll faster than I can blink. I looked away for a minute and turned back to find her lodged beneath the desk with an empty ice cream cup and an overturned mini trash can. Crazy kids!

One of my favorite things Carter does….he loves to bowl! He takes after daddy! When we play with his pretend set at home, he pretends to be the bowling machine also! After he bowls…he runs down…and sits down…and lifts the pins still standing…pushes the others back and resets them. Then he runs back and bowls again! You sure can tell he grew up in a bowling alley! LOL

So many fun memories of mine and nephews & nieces. I’ll say the time my niece came up to me when I returned home with “baby eat worms, baby eat worms.” She was 20 months and my daughter (baby) was 8 months.

In case you haven’t chosen a winner yet ….. the most fun we had with our little one was taking him to the aquarium and watching him watch the seals playing!
