A little more kitchen fun

While I was snapping pictures yesterday of my kitchen wall decor, I thought I’d snap a few extra of some fun details.

Nothing fancy, most of it handmade or bought on clearance or at a yard sale.

Because that’s how I roll.

Enjoy!

Whitewashed clay pots, home to my still alive african violets lining the window above my sink.

Cafe curtains sewn with many a curse word uttered by yours truly.

And don’t miss the goofy polka dotty oven mitts! I can never decide if I love them or hate them…

Vintage aqua mason jars nestled between.

A tiny bright orange dishto hold my  Olive Bungalow mothers’ ring set.  They are sterling silver, but I take them off when I do dishes (even though I probably don’t have to).

A vintage mason jar turned dishsoap dispenser. (thank you husband!)

Numbered canisters.  Empty.  But cute.

Le Creuset all in a row…

The coffee and sugar would be best served through an IV drip, but for now these glass canisters will have to do…

A happy colander, a colorful placemat, and a cereal bowl turned napkin holder keep my white tabletop looking fun.  (how on earth is that a bowl???  but that’s what it said on the tag at Target!)

Do you just love this table?!

My dad made it for me…the space where a table is supposed to go is really narrow and doesn’t quite work with standard sized tables.

So, I asked my dad if he would make me a table that was a smidge narrower than most and make the matching bench for little kid buns.

Love.

I picture this table getting beat up, colored on, paint splattered, milk spilled, high school kids eating pizza’d…and with a good sanding and a new coat of paint (different colors?)…it’s the table we oughta have for years.

Valentine’s Day roses in (another) vintage aqua mason jar.

A pretty ribbed bowl for fruit, atop an antique buffet.

A real bronze flying pig.  I’ve had this for years and it still cracks me up.

Scrapbook paper, all white dishes and the cutest cupcake stand evah.

And a handy hook for diaper bags and purses.

Hope you enjoyed the mini tour!

I know it was random, but hey, sometimes a girl has random on the brain!

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

The only thing I love more than lurking blogs, is lurking blogs that show inside people’s homes. Thanks for sharing and quenching my need to lurk! :)

It’s OK…I take my rings off too when I wash dishes. I don’t like when soap and things get up under them – makes my fingers break out in a weird rash. I also take them off when I sleep – because my fingers swell when I’m sleeping. Weird, random facts for you. :P

    I love your kitchen!
