Weird but True Wednesday {giveaway}

Books, books, books.

Everywhere you look in my home, there will be at least one book somewhere.

On the floor.  Peeking out from under the couch.  Piled high on the nightstand.  Both nightstands.  Jam packed into shelves.

Henry struggles with reading, but he loves to look at the pages and his favorite is being read to.

So you can imagine how exciting it was to get a surprise package on our doorstep from National Geographic Kids a couple of weeks ago.

Jill is loving the Wild Tales: Ella’s Bath book.  It’s a board book with flaps that you lift, which is great for littler kids, but still filled with the vibrant photography you can expect from Nat Geo.

Lucy’s favorite is the Animal Creativity Book.  It comes with stickers, coloring pages, stencils, and lots of fill in the blanks.  She’s been way into drawing and creating lately so this came at a perfect time!

P.S. Bed head is the best.

Personally, I’m super excited about the Treasury of Egyptian Mythology.  It’s perfect for supplementing at home when they are studying it at school.  (Now I need the Greek Mythology version!)

And, as you might guess, Henry loves the Weird but True books.  Little factoids with colorful pages are his favorite of all time.

They sent us the  NG Kids Ultimate Weird But True 2, but as a mom, I kinda liked that they have a Ye Olde Weird but True: 300 Outrageous Facts from History version too.  I’ve been reading from it during our homeschooling time and tying it into some of the things we’ve learned this year.

National Geographic Kids has decreed that today is Weird But True Wednesday to highlight the release of the NG Kids Ultimate Weird But True 2 book.  So they are encouraging us to share weird but true facts all day today.  If you follow me on Facebook, I’ll post some Weird but True facts about MYSELF (that I can think of!) and I’ll also toss in some of my favorites from the books.  Fun?  Yes!  (But you gotta share with me too!)

There are a bunch of fun events going on today (like crowning Austin, TX the weird but true town of the year!), and NG Kids is hosting a Twitter party today (6-7pm PST).  There will be lots of fun prizes.  You can learn more about it here.

But wait!

There’s more!

I’m giving away a one year subscription to either National Geographic Kids or National Geographic Little Kids (winner’s choice) to one lucky reader!

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.
