Purple Pedi

I always feel a tinge of guilt when I get a pedicure.

Let’s face it: I’m paying someone to cut my toenails for me.

Talk about the epitome of Western indulgence and luxury.

Needless to say, I don’t do it often.

But it still happens sometimes because…

Let’s face it: it feels really good.

Last weekend we celebrated Tessy’s high school graduation and on one of the afternoons a group of the girls went out for pedis.

I made the mistake let the teen girls pick out my toenail color.

Purple.

Of all colors.

Whatever.  I told them they could pick.  Mea culpa.

But…

So relaxing.

So nice to have pretty (purple) toes.

{Mine are the short, stubby toes in the bottom center…they look pink in this photo.  But really, they are no doubt purple.}

When we got home the girls decided that MY girls needed pedis too.

I said fine so long as it wasn’t red.

So Barbie-Goes-To-The-Mall-Hot-Pink is what they went with.

Good grief.

Jill was quite the sport.

You would think she’s done this before.

Lucy on the other hand…

Well, yeah.

Lucy is Lucy.

And having to sit still for more than 2 seconds is a definate NO-Go for her.

I’m sure you are shocked.

But I have to tell you, the little painted piggies…that are already starting to chip away…

just want to munch on them.

So. stinking. cute.

Mommy, take a picture of my white toes!

P.S. Have you entered to win a SheyB camera strap shop credit yet???

Have you donated in honor of Meg and her amazing trip to Africa yet?

Fridays are always good days to give.

Pretty sure of it.

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.
