Magical

For the locals reading my blog, here is yet another post with pictures from the Barn.

You may be tired of the place.

But for me…

a girl who grew up in the ‘burbs of Los Angeles, this place is magical.

I will never tire of the quaintness of it.

The simplicity.

The quiet.

(okay, when it’s not a holiday weekend!)

The cute little animals and the fun displays.

Besides, what better place to play with my new camera?

This rooster was pretty far away.  But with the help of my handy dandy telephoto lens…he’s chillin’ right next to me!

The number of photos I’ve taken is well, kinda ridiculous.

For the record, all of these photos were taken in auto mode.

All I did was zoom in, squat, and push the little button.

I did, however, do some editing in Photoshop to adjust coloring and brightness, but beyond that, these are of no credit to me, but to the amazing technology bundled up in that little plastic case.

I know they are expensive, but honestly, if you can swing it, you really should get yourself a DSLR.

Best toy ever.

I’m a bit bummed we didn’t hunker down and get one sooner.

This is Jilly’s new favorite face.  She scrunches up her nose and grins.  Love this kid.

See that pink clip in her hair?

At some point, it was gone.

Incidentally, I found it again.

In Lucy’s diaper.

In Lucy’s poop diaper.

Cool.

Look, I know everyone thinks their kid is cute.  But really, this boy.

Melts me.

I have no pictures of Lucy.

Because apparently in Lucy Land, “LuLu!  Look at Mommy!” means Stare At Your Feet And Look Anywhere But At Mommy.

That child.

I really hate feet.  But baby feet?  Want to eat them up.  Tiny toes in flip flops?  Yummy goodness.

Jilly has finally graduated to a size 1.  Although they really are still too big.

Tiny jelly shoes, ankle rolls, and ruffled jeans.  I’m not sure it gets any better.

I could easily spend a small fortune in their shop.

And on their flowers.

And while I hate all things cherry, they sure are pretty!

Does your mouth water just looking at this?

Happy Day all!

I have a ton to do today!

What’s on your agenda for today?

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

FYI I am supremely jealous of your camera!!!! Beautiful pics. Also, we now live less than a mile from “the barn” so that practically obligates you to come over before or after for a visit! :)

I love the barn! Its almost as if when you go you see the simplicity in life.

Henry laughing about nothing or crying about having to poop.

    Awesome(:

Again I have to say I love the pictures. Your new toy is awesome!

My day is me going to work for 4 hours. Coming home to “rest”. Meeting at 2. Then business class at 6. Pretty much a normal Tuesday for me.
I’d much rather be sewing though. :)

Oh my gosh those little feet make me so nostalgic….treasure it! Girls shoes are still cute at age 7, 6 and 3, but not nearly as cute as the feet in a baby sandal!

Oh so pretty! You have to take SOME credit, Jeannett! You could enter that rooster shot (and the others) in a contest at the fair, and that would add more country quaintness for you, City Girl! I too love the Barn, and believe me, actually living in the boonies was charming, yes, but never as cute as they have it there.

A little tip from a momma who just started with her DSLR. instead of shooting on auto try putting it on aperture priority. this is either an A for nikon or AV for cannon (i have a cannon) and turn off your flash you wont need it, especially outside! give it a whirl and let me know how it goes!!
