Guess I’ll Need That 2nd Swing After All…

I didn’t register/buy/borrow a second set of the big baby gear stuff because I wasn’t sure if the girls would both like it…Henry *hated* his swing and it did nothing but sit in my living room collecting dust. Turns out, my girlies like the swing. They can fit together for now, (how cute that Lucy is hugging on Jill!) but that won’t last for long.

It’s funny…when I had Henry, I secretly thought that relying on a swing for your baby was “bad”, so I didn’t mind that he didn’t like the swing…and now, with twins, I have found that so many of my notions about parenting have changed. You just don’t have the same luxuries with two that you did with one. Add to it that I am recovering (slowly) from this c-section…so even baby wearing is impossible…because everything ties or hangs right at the incision site. Everything this time around (at least for now) is very much just survival mode.

And with that, I will be sending my mom down to the local consignment store for a second baby swing this afternoon…

And maybe even a third one…(just kidding)…

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

Jeannett–both pictures are too cute for words!! I am glad the girls are enjoying their swing–my kids loved it. It just took Henry a little longer to enjoy it-that's all!

Hope all is well and you are getting more rest these days. Miss you all.

darn..I just gave our swing to a friend of mine! Those girls are so cute in there together, and Henry is too funny.
We LIVED by our swing – I think that was the only thing he would sleep in for a while. I was all about that swing, they are a lifesaver (especially after surgery – woo!)
