In the Womb: Multiples

National Geographic did a video series on multiples in the womb…all of which is on YouTube. It’s broken up into 10 parts (about 10 minutes each and this one is 7/10) and while they are all very interesting, this segment was my favorite…except when the narrator says something like “twins are a reproductive accident”. Yeah, if you discount that whole God thing. But that’s fine. Either way, it’s pretty amazing to see the interaction of the babies in utero. I saw a glimpse of it in my last ultrasound…one baby really was kicking the other in the head! Let’s hope that’s not a habit they carry out into the world or there will be LOTS of time outs in their future! :)

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

HOw great is our God?!!! I love those kind of movies–I am always amazed at babies and the womb and pregnancy. Wow.

That reminded me of the triplets, when they were tiny babies if we snuggled them in the bassinet in the same position they were in the womb, they would sleep twice as long. Often if we left them unswaddled in a crib together we would find them back in their womb positions! Twins and higher multiples are fascinating!

Jeannett, Walmart has that skirt in some really cute prints, too. Based on your approval, I may need to go and get another one. Get a pink one and we can be twins. Wait, twins…I’ve heard that word around here recently.
