Twin Belly Shot #2 and a Series of Mental Notes

  1. Horizontal stripes are always a fashion risk. Horizontal stripes when you are pregnant are always a fashion DON’T. (Unless of course you actually LIKE to look even more like a cow than you are).
  2. Wearing a non-maternity shirt is no longer cute when you are 14 weeks 6 days pregnant with twins. It’s cute to wear your normal tops in the beginning, but when it doesn’t even come close to covering your “bump”, it’s time to move to maternity wear.
  3. Messy ponytails only look chic on Gweneth Paltrow and magazine models. On regular people, they just look like…messy ponytails.
  4. Learn to accept the fact that your rear end will somehow grow to epic proportions. Begin meditating now so that you aren’t so shocked by its sheer size the next time you see yourself in a photo.
  5. Purposely posing for a photo to display how much weight you are gaining is awkward. Making a tongue taco doesn’t make it less awkward.
  6. Wear just a tad more make up. Because after all…if the barn needs painted…paint the barn.

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

ugh. that is so true about messy ponytails. and why is that so true?!

and, really, you look so cute! and you are not going to believe any of us when we say that, but it’s TRUE! especially with the tongue taco. :)

Ha Ha! I agree with you about the make-up and pregnancy… grace that face! I’ve also taken to wearing scarves and any other eye catching thing I can near my face simply as a distraction. Pregnancy takes humility right? I feel like telling people in line behind me that my rear isn’t normally this wide. But I don’t know what you are complaining about – you look cute!

I cannot imagine the 30 week picture. There just isn’t room for 2 babies in there, and as a 5 foot 2 girl, I know! You do look so cute though. It almost makes me miss being pregnant, almost.

HA! you are too cute for words…and I agree with Diana – those babies will suck it all back out, so don’t worry and enjoy yourself :)

I feel I need to hold you accountable about painting your barn because I KNOW you heard Bob when he told us to do that. What if Andy goes somewhere and sees women WITH painted barns? Maybe he’ll decide he’d rather have a barn-painter, and then it will be all your fault. And really, you can’t say you weren’t warned.

HA! You look beautiful, I love that pregnant tummy, and you don’t need any more makeup. You look great and I’m NOT just saying that!!!

(On a sidenote I DID actually paint my barn today. BUT I did NOT see Kevin off at the door with it painted. I was still in my pjs. Will he come home tonight? Time will tell. Hahaha…it just sounds more and more ludicrous every time I type it out. I would swear I’d dreamed all that up if you weren’t sure you heard it too. :) )

i personally like the tongue taco in this picture–it’s whimsical and isn’t being prego with twins whimsical? the messy ponytails only look good with those thin elastic bands the college girls wear. i don’t get that. you look so good! being pregnant is big, yes, but beautiful–you wear it well.
