Andy

Andy has been so cute lately. In the beginning of my pregnancy, when I wasn’t showing, he didn’t really say much about the baby or what was happening. Even when I tried to talk to him about things, he would kinda answer, but clearly he wasn’t interested in the topic. He wasn’t mad or anything, just not interested. And that kind of hurt my feelings a little, although I’m not sure why.

Well, that’s all over and done with now that my buddha belly has officially popped and there’s no mistaking that I’m pregnant. (I left my camera at church, so I’ll post a pic when I get home this afternoon). Not only does Andy lecture his “son”, he’s also nesting. It’s pretty funny. Yesterday, he says “the carpet needs cleaned again before the baby comes, so we’ll have it done in June” (mind you, we just had them cleaned in October). Then, a few hours later, “I’m going to wax and really detail all of the cars this Spring before the baby comes”. He has all these cleaning and organizing plans, it’s very cute. Yesterday, I was in a mood of sorts (not bad, just punchy) and he grabbed my belly, leaned down and said “Son, give your mother a swift kick for me…she’s acting up again.” I told him he’s giving our daughter a complex. He’s already all geared up for taking the baby to Cal Poly basketball games and to the annual Land Cruiser event in November…and to the church camping trip in September. Camping with a 6 week old! (Actually, I’m looking forward to it…newborns don’t run around, and with all the church folk, I’ll hardly see the kid the whole weekend anyway!)

Today I am 20 weeks pregnant, which according to my books, I’M HALFWAY THERE!!! Woohoo! The frightening thing is how quickly the first half went by!

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

Two things: first, I think your tummy still looks really small. You are looking so great, I can’t believe you’re halfway!

And second, Andy ought to spread his nesting energy around and come organize my closets!
