Date

One Dozen Roses.

Starbucks Decaf Mocha.

No Kids.

No need to rush.

Albertstons.

What???

I went on a date this morning.

With myself.

It was fabulous.

I had just nursed the girls.

All three were down for a nap.

Andy was home.

I got to go grocery shopping…

without trying to hurry back.

Wandering up and down the aisles aimlessly.

Sipping my coffee goodness.

And ya know what?

I’m so okay with the fact that I am at a point in my life where a trip to the grocery store can qualify as relaxing.

Besides, the sales were pretty fabulous. I got to stock up on stuff we actually use. And that’s always a bonus.

(The roses were $4.99 a dozen!)

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

    Ha,Ha! Your're funny.

But I totally agree. I love the rare occasion of grocery shopping alone. It is so relaxing.

Wait a minute! If all the kids were sleeping, why weren't YOU sleeping?!

Oh Lara…yeah, right. I think I've only napped while they napped like twice. Too much other stuff to do and I can't sleep when I know there are things out there to get done…

So you go on your date with yourself this time, then a date with sleep the next, then a date with yourself, throw in a date with Andy…repeat.

Aw girl, someone needs to be buying those roses FOR you…I would think you deserve it! :)
