We had an extra fun week.  We were invited to the Mickey’s Halloween Party (see previous post), and treated by the folks at Disney with a night at the Disneyland Hotel.

This was such a special treat for us.  While we often stay at a local hotel, we’ve never been able/willing to splurge on the extra cost of staying on site.  We also decided to make a big long trip of it, and ended up going from Friday through Wednesday.

Since we were there for so many days, we decided to spend one whole day hanging out at the pool. Those monorail themed slides are pretty much the best.

My kids swam and slid for about 8 hours straight.  It was awesome.

The last time we had annual passes, this guy was a bitty baby who rode in an ergo and had nursing sessions on Pirates of the Carribean.

Now he’s two, which means he’s super fun because he gets such a kick out of rides and characters and gets so excited pointing his little fat sausage fingers at everything, begging you to look.

Except that he also knows that it’s hot and there’s people and we’re waiting in line, and WHY CAN”T WE GET ON THE BOAT YET???!!!!

I’m really excited to use our passes this year, even with a Porkchop to corral.  The big kids are getting bigger and besides wrangling the wee one into his stroller (constantly), it was a super pleasant time.  The big kids didn’t have meltdowns, and we were able to truly enjoy each other and the park.

Not to mention that shorty in the middle is finally tall enough to ride just about everything, so it opened up a whole new world of rides for her.

I am completely, utterly, unabashedly OBSESSED with this hat.

I want to wear it every single day.  In fact, it makes me want to buy ALL THE TRUCKER HATS because hello?!  They are comfy!  And shield your face.  And #badhairdontcare.

Miss Jill is a dancer at heart.  She loves music and has been known to rock it out in an elevator.

So we always make it a point to take note of the times that DJ comes out and has his dance party routine.  We’ve done it probably about 25 times, and it never gets old watching her.

This time, she found a sweet little friend in red.  I have no idea who that little girl is, but I love her.  She danced with Jill and held her shaky hand and was patient with her wobbly steps the whole time.

She’s gonna grow up to be Good People.  I like that.

I could go on and on about this book, but let me just say this: BUY IT.  READ IT.  It is worth every cotton pickin penny.  It seems random and if you read aloud often already, you might think “Nah, I got it.  We do this already.”  Just read it anyway.  Promise you it’ll be inspiring.

Also, my bookmark should say cake, but it’s close enough.

How about you?  What did you do this week?

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.
