I suppose a case could be made for each of the seasons.
After all, summer brings lazy days and popsicles.
Fall has that crisp breeze and candy colored squash.
And winter…Christmas.
But spring brings a freshness. A new start, bird chirping, perfect weather, not too hold, not too cold Happiness.
Spring means it’s not too hot to jump on the trampoline.
In full costume, no less.
High kicking robots battle dinosaurs of various shapes and sizes.
The littlest right in the middle of it all.
Because he thinks he’s 7. Instead of 1.
Spring is an overflowing antique baby bathtub of succulents.
Spring is the perfect time to try on a pair of muscles.
And to practice standing.
And to wear the 20+ year old costume your grandma made for your dad when he was a boy.
The grass starts growing almost faster than dad can mow it, and it serves as a perfect backdrop to a tub of costumes. Just take your pick.
And while she picks just the right outfit, these keep right on keeping on.
The littlest right smack in the middle of it all.
No bigs.
Over the years, I’ve found a love of decorating my mantle.
It’s a simple way to be festive without going all out and having to add a ton of stuff all over the house (although I totally do that at Christmas.)
And I’ve found that I prefer to decorate for full seasons rather than holidays. Holidays tend to whiz by so fast that by the time I get my stuff up, it’s practically time to pull it all down again.
So rather than decorate my mantle for Easter, I stick with a longer lasting “Spring”.
Did you know that Minted, known mainly for its gorgeous custom cards and invitations, also carries limited edition art prints created by independent artists?
And you can even choose from a wide variety of custom frames.
They show up on your door step all ready to display.
A succulent. An ampersand. Perfection.
I also got this pretty peacock feather drawing.
Next to roses from my garden it makes me happy.
The high quality of the print is amazing. It looks like a real painting. For a fraction of the price.
I love that I can bring some of the lightness of spring into my living room without resorting to plastic eggs and stuffed bunnies.
Also, I think I need to go back and get this print too. Because it’s just SO happy.
Minted also sells a line of party decor supplies…including custom bunting.
You can pick any phrase/word you want on it, and you can even have photos printed on the end flags.
They have all kinds of party themes ranging from birthday to bridal and baby showers and even weddings.
Plus they are printed on high quality paper so you can use them year after year.
Fun, right?!
And Minted wants to give away one custom bunting to one of you! You get to pick out the design and the wording!
To enter, follow the prompts on the rafflecopter widget below. I’ll pull a winner on Monday, May 5.
Good luck and enjoy!
*Disclosure: I received product in exchange for a review post. But I got to pick out what I wanted. And I’m totally gonna be stalking their art selection. It’s good stuff.
Stop. These are so cute. I want to throw all the parties now. I can’t really pick a favorite but the Guapa party decor is gorgeous
Too many to pick, but I definitely like the Super Hero theme!
A couple of weeks ago we had friends coming to stay with us. I decided to quickly make a spring banner to be festive. I wrote the letters spelling spring on some cut out eggs and strung them together with some cut ribbon and hung them sweetly on my fake mantle. Later Ethan says, “hey Darci, happy sping.” Yeah, I had forgotten the R. We left it as a family inside joke!
Love the mantel. I try to decorate mine, too, but never quite get there.
I adore the Baby Elephant theme, but really, they’re all fabulous!
My boys would go nuts over the robot theme!! Such cute stuff!
That succulent print! Love!
Fanciful Fawn or Wildflowers or…seriously, how do you even chose??
Also, can I say how much I adore your bucket o costumes???
I try to do my mantel too, but usually get it done a week before and then have to take it down for the next holiday. I like your idea of doing the season! Who doesn’t love bunting!?! Yes please!
