Sweet, simple, everyday.
We tell the stories behind the pictures we share on Instagram every Friday.
Will you join us?
(I’m jeannettg if you want to follow)
I took the kids to their first dentist appointment.
We don’t have dental insurance so I’ve been waiting until I kinda had to.
Henry was in the next room over getting x-rays and his teeth cleaned all by himself. Like a grown up kid.
This girl and her legs for miles REFUSED to open her mouth. Clenched her little mouth and pursed those little lips like it was her JOB.
But more than anything I couldn’t get over how grown up she looked in that chair.
Time sucks.
We really need to live in the country.
We have this little patch of dirt next to our driveway (that we have forever been meaning to concrete over to give us more parking). It’s the ONE spot on our entire small suburban property that isn’t paved or landscaped.
It’s the one spot you will find my kids if they aren’t riding bikes or skateboards.
Wheels and dirt = kid heaven.
In this case, they informed me they were making “disgusting science”. Not sure what that means, but they were quiet for like an hour. So by all means. Knock yourself out.
Parchment paper.
I mean, if I didn’t want him to play with it I wouldn’t have left it RIGHT THERE for him, right?
Good grief, child.
#NaughtyPorkchop forevah.
My girls are WAY into coloring lately.
It isn’t often that Jill and Lu are doing the same thing, so this right here?
Mama Heart Happy.
Even if Lucy got herself dressed in some floral plaid atrocity, Jill’s still in jammies (pretty sure it’s after noon), and that rug needs a good cleaning. Real life. Right there.
Daddy got a new car last week.
He got home super late with it (he drove to Siberia to get the best deal), so the next morning Henry and I stole it.
And got donuts.
In our jammies.
Because stealing cars, eating donuts, and wearing sleepwear in public is kinda our thing.
We strive for big things around here.
This exists.
It is real.
Someone dreamed this up. Someone manufactured it. Someone designed packaging. Someone bought it for their store shelves.
I’m sure someone will pay actual real money for it.
And look, you can even try it, right there in store.
Duly noted.
Sometimes I want to eat him up I can’t get over how much I love him.
And although his antics give me gray hair, how on EARTH am I supposed to get mad at that face?!
We should hedge bets on how long before he’s rolling around the skatepark with his brother…by the time he’s 2.5? That’s my guess.
Related: Henry has another skate competition this afternoon.
HOW IS THIS MY LIFE?
He won’t let me take a picture of him. Because he’s getting growned up and that’s annoying.
But we got to use this little pillow that used to be Daddy’s.
“Mom, I know it’s really just you, so please don’t forget, okay?”
You’ve seen my sign from Barn Owl Primitives, right?
It’s to DIE FOR.
