Rainbow Signs {giveaway}

Oh friends….

I am SO excited to share this with you.

Because I’ve been long admiring Miss Kristi’s gorgeous work.

And I’ve long been pining for a piece of my own.

And as if that weren’t enough, I am about 195% sure that I have scored the most amazing Barn Owl Primitives sign of ALL TIME.

When Kristi asked if I would like to pick out a sign for myself in exchange for sharing with my sweet readers, I happily obliged.  I mean, twist my arm.

After much indecisive clicking back and forth…BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL PERFECTION…I finally settled on her You Are My Sunshine. il_570xN.377193745_hoza

I sing this song to my kids often.

Plus, RAINBOW.

Now imagine my delight  when Kristi asked if I would mind if she change the color palette a little to better reflect what she gathered were my tastes based on my Instagram feed.

Sign maker by day, Columbo by night.

NOW imagine my giddy excitement (and I mean, there was actual, in fact, for reals full on squealing) when I opened up that package to find THIS:

I mean, I thought the primary colors in her original version were fantastic.

But this???!!!  This happy jewel toned beauty is like manna from heaven above.

In fact, it was so full of awesome, I was kinda stressed out.

Where would I put this?!

It had to be the perfect place in my house.

IMG_0063

First, I tried it in my kitchen.

It looked cute, but not quite right.

Plus, it reminded me how horrifically I had slapped my gallery wall up.

The gallery wall I keep meaning to re-do and space out appropriate, all Pinterest like, but haven’t bothered with.

Plus, somehow, it didn’t seem quite right to have a nursery rhyme in the kitchen.

IMG_0071

Then, I moved it to the living room.

I actually really liked it here, but it covered up a lot of that second shelf.

IMG_0072

(P.S. look close…a certain brass unicorn was mailed to me recently.  Yessssssss.)

The playroom/schoolroom seemed like the best spot.

So I tried here.

Which I loved.  But it meant displacing another sign I had there.

Finally, I decided that it needed to live perched right on our work desk.

Where it would remind my kids of their preciousness as they color.  And remind me too when we’re having a hard homeschool day.

IMG_0083

The play/school room houses some of my favorite things, so it seemed natural to have it display my new favorite sign.

Like this little vintage camera and glass globe I found at an antique store.

IMG_0084

And happy flowers all lined up in sweet vases.

IMG_0085

And our heart rock collection.

IMG_0079

Plus, it pretty much looks like it was made to get married to Meg’s canvas and they should have sign art babies together.

Am I right?

Kristi’s shop is filled with all manner of gorgeous.

As you can imagine, it was hard to choose my favorite.  Here are the ones I kept waffling on before finally settling:

Kindness, cooking, encouragement and Christmas.

It’s like my favorite things all in a little collage of scuffed up sign happy.

Did I mention rainbow???

Yeah.

Any color you want.

Now before you hate my guts too much more, Kristi was sweet enough to offer ONE LUCKY DUCK READER a $75 gift certificate to her shop!!!!

SEE?!

Just follow the easy peasy prompts in the rafflecopter widget below.  You have up to 3 entries each, and I’ll select a winner on Tuesday, October 29th.

So Go!  And follow Barn Owl Primitives on Instagram while you’re at it and get treated to rainbow happiness in your feed whenever she posts.

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

I could really use anything encouraging..we just found out from the insurance adjuster that we’ve got to rip out the flooring in half my house from the damage done by an overflowing toilet to prevent any horrible illness caused by black mold. Guess I’ll be moving EVERYTHING to storage for a while. I do realize this is just an inconvenience and not really bad in the scheme of life…..but a little joy from a new sign mighthelp me get through the clean-up and reno.
