InstaFriday

You know, if I was a professional blogger, I would have InstaFriday written up in advance and scheduled to post at midnight.

And then, all of you, on the east coast and Siberia and whatnot, could link up.

You know, the way normal linky party things go.

But, I’m just not that together.

All of that to say, Hey, good morning!  What’s up?  What’d you do this week?

(I’m jeannettg on insta if you want to follow)

A long time ago I read that you should unsubscribe from all catalogs and if you still got some in the mail, you should throw them away before even so much as cracking the cover.

I need to do that again.

Because I am having serious Home Dec ADD.

It’s not that I don’t like what I have now…but that I want to change it all.

All those walls I painstakingly painted fun colors?  Those walls that were white?

I want to paint them white again.

No bueno.

Jilly had a follow up with the hearing doctor guy.  (It’s standard to check stuff like this when you have a non-verbal child…just to make sure you aren’t missing something.)

All is well.  She hears just fine thankyouverymuch.

So basically she’s just disobedient AND DOESN’T LISTEN ON PURPOSE.

She’s four.  I think that’s kind of in 4 year old’s job description.

Not in ANYONE’S job description?  Having an appointment at 9:40 and not seeing the doctor until 10:40.

Grrrrr….

She was pretty scared of the whole experience.

Before the nurse even touched her, she started saying “Owwwwww’.

Little Jilly has figured out that people who wear scrubs hurt.

Or, usually they do.  Poking and prodding and such.

She didn’t get a shot or blood drawn or an IV, but it still freaked her out.

Poor kid was shaking in the sound booth.

School officially starts next week. (HALLELUJAH!!!!)

I love not the No Structure of summer…but now…I need structure!!!  We’ve lounged and played and diddled and daddled…it was fun at first, but we need places to be, things to do, and a schedule to keep.

Remind me of this in February.

Henry drew our family “I made Jill crawling, since she can’t walk yet.”

That made me sad.  It was sweet of him.  But it still made me sad.

Although apparently Owen has no arms so I’m not sure if that means something too.

Henry is super easily distracted.  (ADHD?  Maybe.  Probably.)

Focus, Henry.

Come on, pay attention.

Stay on task!

I made this Focus Jar.  1 marble = 1 minute of iPad time.

Let’s hope the novelty of it doesn’t wear off too quickly.

Lisa had an Open House at her shop this week.

I couldn’t resist the prospect of pretty stuff on sale and getting to hug one of my favorite people.

I’ve been coveting that little acorn necklace for months.

IMG_5605

We took the kids to see Planes.

I made him selfie it up with me.

He rolled his eyes.

Totally my kid.

IMG_5607

A little project with succulents.

I can’t wait until they grow in a little more.

And then there’s this guy.

I cannot imagine our family without him in it.

He’s too much.

What’d you do this week?

Link up, grab a button, and visit one another!

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

One of my biggest pet peeves is having to wait at the doctor. It’s such a double standard… you are late? You lose your appointment. They are late, they still charge an arm, leg and kidney for them to tell you that you have a virus and to go home, take an aspirin and call them in the morning. Ughhh….

I love that selfie with Henry and the fact that he smiled for you even though he rolled his eyes. What a good kid. // Glad Jilly survived the appointment & all is well. // I’m so glad I don’t get home decor catalogs anymore. That would not be good. Plus, this way I still love my fun colors. // Love that family drawing. So sweet. And, yeah, sad. Kids are so honest in their drawings. // Not only does Owen not have any arms, he also has a very interesting expression. lol. Maybe that’s his drawing of a #naughtyporkchop. :) // Have a great week!

So much sweetness. Glad to hear that the doctors appointment is done and that she hears well. Waiting for drs is no fun. Man, I’d have loved to go to Lisa Leonard’s open house. Jealous. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

I am on vacation until next month; Miss A and I are in Ferndale with the MIL. We have thrifted, eaten bad food, gone to the fair, lounged at the beach, and watched spinners hand spin yarn from wool. Plus enjoyed a lovely visit from our favorite Oregonian cousins. Not so fun: coordinating door repairs between the hubby and door repair guy from a distance. Thank you, home invasion burglars. Your karma awaits.

    Cheers,

I’m glad the doctor’s appointment went well! I hate waiting for doctor’s too, they always seem to take the longest but when you see them it’s only for a short amount of time. I also as a child was contantly in the doctor’s or hospitals so I was (I’m slowly getting over it) not a fan of people in scrubs or doctors.
    Loved this link up!
