Hello lazy family weekends with no schedules, no obligations, no places to be.
Hello gardening and replanting the poor container garden that withered and died because mama was too busy feeding a different little creature.
Hello ladybugs. You have quite the feast awaiting you on the rose bushes. Goodbye aphids. You will not be missed.
Hello sleepy babies inside the cool house on the couch.
Hello teeny succulent. I like you. I just wish you weren’t so dang expensive.
Hello summer days that are finally warm enough to really enjoy the water play and not freeze to death in the cool ocean breezes typical to our town.
Hello fun daddies who help make the slip n slide 100 times more awesome.
Hello abundant water and a good God who blesses us in the sweetest ways.
Hello silly girl who loved the journey…
…but hated the splashy ending.
Hello lunch outside and sisters stealing sandwiches.
Hello summer babies who eat their lunch outside too and then nap some more on the patio furniture.
I will deeply miss these sweet unscheduled weekends when the hustle and bustle of sports teams make their way into our family. For now, I will treasure our family days and keep organized sports at arm’s length for as long as I possibly can.
I love this season of our lives.
Say Hello to Mondays with Lisa Leonard.
Can I ask where you got the lady bugs at? Did you order them online? Several vegetable plants are being attacked my mass amounts of aphids (hate those things!) in our garden. It’s really starting to frustrate me. Thanks!
I got them at Orchard Supply Hardware (OSH)…I don’t know where you live or if you have one locally, but they were in a small refrigerator in the garden area…if you don’t have an OSH try calling smaller hardware/garden centers before you go driving all around town. I know you can also order online, but I’m too lazy and impatient for that! :) Good luck!
ooooooooohhhhhhh…Baby Owen has peach fuzz on his head…that’s killing me right there (good thing I have my own peach-fuzz-wearing baby at home to snuzzle :)
Looks like a nice happy day. I love these days too and you are right, once sports get in the way, it’s get crazy. But little boys do love their flag football/t-ball game. I just allow one at a time. I have a big family (or somewhat big – 4 little ones like you) and I actually want to spend time as a family..what’s the point otherwise!
I hope you’re not complaining about freezing to death those cool ocean breezes! ;) I’d pay any amount of money for a cool ocean breeze at this point! Lucky for me, we’re headed to the beach later this week for a long weekend away (our first as a family, and our first time away in 4 years)! Unlucky for me, I’m 34 weeks pregnant and won’t have nearly as much fun as Daddy and Little One. Oh well! So glad you’re enjoying these laidback days at home. :)
Hello cutie pie! I bet you can’t stop kissing on that baby!

I kept our Saturday mornings free and sports away for a very long time for that exact reason. Blake started playing baseball later and he did just fine!!

Your Hubster is doing an awesome job of shot-putting the kids down the slip-n-slide. Woot.
I get ladybugs and praying mantis eggs. I put the ladybugs in the fridge to keep them ‘dormant’ aka too cold to move and release them at dusk so they are less apt to fly away. The praying mantis egg usually hatches a couple weeks later, any stray ladybugs get snapped up by the mantis’. They are chow hounds. Aphids are taking up residence in our tomato plants so it’s off to the local nursery for round two…
Cheers,
Caryl
