The Happy Day Project

It’s here!  It’s here!  It’s finally here!

Well, almost.

Julie of Joy’s Hope and I are teaming up for our own version of a random act of kindness week (inspired by this post).  With a couple of happy twists.  Because we couldn’t just leave well enough alone.

The best part of all?

We want YOU to join in!

With the crazy that is the holiday season just around the corner, we wanted to take one last breath and share some goodness, kindness, and happiness with those around us.

Beginning Monday, Julie and I will each be blogging the day’s task on our respective blogs.

To make it even happier, we’ve collaborated with bloggers from around the web who have provided a free printable to help you carry out the Happy Day task!  So you get to spread happy in the cutest way possible!!!

You should see these printables you guys.  I died.  Every time one popped up in my inbox.  Squealing could be heard.  No lie.

Does this sound fun, but you’re worried you might not be able to squeeze in a task every day?  Maybe you have an especially crazy jam packed day on Tuesday and there’s no way you can pull it off, but you still really want to participate?  Say you live in the country and the nearest neighbor is 27 miles away?

No worries!  Each task has been paired with a virtual way to fulfill it.

You can still spread the happy by visiting the charity we’ve suggested and making a small donation!  See?  We’ve made it as easy as pie for you!  (or, if you’re an overachiever, you can do both: the task and donate.)

Here’s a sneaky peeky:

Involve your kids!  Spreading happy should be a family event!  Talk to them about why you are doing this.  Let them help fill out the printables.  Browse the charity websites and learn more about what they do.  Answer the 8,953 questions they’re sure to have.

Will you be a part of The Happy Day Project?

Pretty please?

We’d love it if you helped spread the word!  Let’s flood the internet with unexpected happiness!!!  Tweet!  Facebook! Pin!  Stumble!  Tumble!  Blog!  We even have a cute button you can grab if you want.  (I mean really, Julie made that.  Every blog needs that kind of rainbow sunshine in their sidebars.  Pretty sure of it.)

If you’re planning on being a part of The Happy Day Project, link up here.  (Julie and I both have the linky party up…if you sign up on one blog it’ll show up on both of them.  So if you link up here, it’ll be on Julie’s and vice versa.  You don’t have to do it twice.  Technology is fancy.)

And don’t forget to snap some photos!  We’d love to see recap posts of your week when it’s all over!

Are you excited?  Giddy.  Just giddy.

happy day

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

I would LOVE to be a part of this! I’m not going to add my link just because I’m still waiting for this baby to come (due yesterday), so I can’t make any promises that I can join in every day…but I think this is a great idea, and I want to be involved if I can!

This is WONDERFUL! I’m just putting the finishing touches on our Random Acts of Kindness calendar to hang on the dining room wall. I want our entire family to take part and while I plan to provide a list of suggestions, I’m really hoping their super creative selves will come up with some reeeaaally great ways to give! There will be lots of open space and markers for filling in RAOKs throughout the months of Nov-Dec (and maybe it will continue into the new year :)
I’m not going to link up because I’m not sure I will follow that list (already have plans for next week) but good luck to everyone who is linking up…AWESOME!
