Whatcha been up to this week?

Capture the simple, silly moments from your week using nothing but a cell phone camera and then link up!

The agency that provides Jill’s speech therapy has a membership to the local children’s museum.

Every week Lucy and Henry get to play while Jill works with her therapist.

It works out well for everyone involved.

Fun!

This boy is not a snuggler.

Yet, suddenly, he’s been asking to fall asleep in our bed.

Not to stay there “Mommy, move me to my room when I fall asleep okay?”

Don’t twist my arm or anything.

Fall means banana nut muffins.

That I can’t stand.

But my family likes it and it saves me some breakfast prep.

Score!

Bill paying stinks.

Made only slightly less obnoxious by my Pleated Poppy checkbook cover.

It’s happy pink cover and funky courdoroy ruffle make life just a little bit happier when I’m writing checks.

Who invented money anyway???

Bad idea.

A simple $5 gift card made one woman’s day.

It broke my heart to see how quickly her tired face lit up when she saw that I was actually rolling down my window and handing her something of value.

Something that wasn’t a big deal to me.

Try it.  This week?  One gift card for one soul on the corner with a cardboard sign.

Your kids will ask questions.

And that’s a good thing.

I know for a FACT that this layout and the washing soda wasn’t there just a few weeks ago.

I just checked.

Maybe WalMart reads my blog?

Hmmmm…

(okay, not really.  but crazy coincidence right?!)

I’m still madly deeply irrevocably in love with my Erin Condren planner.

Last day to enter to win a $25 gift certificate!

Now it’s YOUR turn!

Grab a button and link up your week!  And don’t forget to visit and comment on at least two other linker uppers, kay?

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

amen, so glad you reached out to that woman! we do gift cards, too.
there are two main spots in town where needy people stand daily and wait for help. even outside my own door, often homeless people will stop and rest on our steps (we live downtown). a water, coffee, shared meal, it makes their day!! the lord has really surprised us with some amazing ministry opportunities here. i wish we could help every person, you know? lord, give us wisdom and mercy!!

    love you!

Fun for the kids to get to play while one is in therapy! How funny, I missed your post about making detergent! I JUST posted my recipe today for it. Although, we do make it a bit differently than each other.

Love your cute check book cover….. although, I never actually write checks out for bills. LOOOOOVE bill pay on-line!!!!

i write very few checks myself…most of my bills are paid online too but there’s still a few doctors offices and the local newspaper that still does it the old fashioned way. it takes us FOREVER to get through a box of checks, which is really nice! :)

Reading about what you did for that woman made me quite emotional. My heart really goes out every time I see someone on the corner, asking for food. I often hand out any little bit of cash I happen to have, and on occasion we have gotten them food & brought it back. One time, I had someone comment that they would probably just use the money for booze. It doesn’t matter to me. What they use the money for is up to them. I can only account for myself, and if I feel led to give, I must give.

Those muffins look yummy! I need to bake something pumpkin-y soon.

I love, love the idea of carrying gift cards to hand out when you see someone in need. You’ve inspired me to get some and be ready. :)
