InstaFriday

Share your silly, sweet, and quirky moments of the week using nothing but cell phone pictures!

A DSLR is great, but sometimes the sweetest and most telling moments need nothing more than the low resolution cammy on your phone.

I have an iPhone and use the Instagram app, but any grainy cell phone pics are welcome!

We went camping last weekend.

In a tent.

The hard part about camping though isn’t the sleeping.

It’s the post-weekend laundry.

Is it just us or do you have to do wash every stitch of anything even if wasn’t worn because it smells like campfire???

Took. for. ever.

At one point we actually had to walk over the piles to get to the girls’ room.

I felt like those people on the Hoarders shows.

Henry’s a quirky kid.

More than once we’ve been at Toys R Us and when I offered to let him get something small he tells me “It’s okay mom.  I have plenty of toys.”

Or, “Can I get a yogurt instead?”

He never asks for anything.

So when he asked if I could buy him Squinkies, I had to oblige.

Even if I knew that those awful little rubbery things and their worthless plastic bubbles would be the death of me.

I already hate them.

We have a good daddy.

He reads Clifford.

Again.

For the 1,786th time this week.

I love the tangled mess of sweetness in his lap.

My family rocks.

Preschool homework.

Don’t even get me started.

But.

It was awful cute to get all three together at the table working on their own projects, at their own levels, in their own way.

Remember that ebook I wrote?

Well, I’m teaching an online workshop about it now.

I’m pretty sure I’m terrified.

A web cam?!  Kill me now.

If you’re real lucky, I might even get dressed up.

You know, in non-yoga pants.  Maybe even some lip gloss.

If you’re a blogger needing to hire help and don’t know where to start…

or if you’ve always been interested in how to get started working as a virtual assistant for a blogger…

I think/hope my workshop can help.

Check out the details here.  I’d love to “see” you there!

My to do list is a mile long.

For every item I cross off, four more are added.

But really, this is my goal.

I desire, more than anything, for my home to be a refuge.

Lately?  Notsomuch.

Working on it.

Intentionally.  Deliberately.

I’m at Simple Mom today talking about how we’re working through Tsh’s ebook together and encouraging others to join in too.

Come say hi?

Now it’s your turn!

Kat made a great suggestion:

Where you normally write your blog name, instead write your instagram name so that we can follow eachother!!!

And don’t forget to visit other InstaFridayers and leave some comment love.  Comments are nice and we do nice around here.

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

We’ve talked about taking our kiddos camping soon! Now that the weather is cooling off & all. But, I hate regular laundry, so I think I’ll really not enjoy post-camping laundry! Ha! Love the pic of daddy reading to the kiddos! Sweet perfection! Thanks for hosting yet again ;)

Camping… my family loves it. Me. Not so much. For exactly the reasons you stated. The campfire smells good for like 10 minutes then I am about to hurl. Congrats on your online workshop. So awesome.

Linking up with you for the first time and I love your blog. Your an inspiration to many mama’s with children with special needs. I work as a Speech Pathologist at a Children’s hospital in the NICU and cardiac units. Having a little one in the hospital is SO HARD. Thanks for sharing your story with this blog. Your family is adorable! I can imagine twins are hectic!

I want to simplify too! And then I write a blog and instagram and think, “should I get rid of all this?” It would certainly simplify my life… I don’t know what the answer is for me just yet.

And, daddies reading to their kids is the best ever.

Congrats on the e-book!!! I wish this midwesterner could make it to your workshop and learn more about how to be an incredible blogger like you! PS- Simply is always at the the top of my list of things to do too, but it seems to get buried by everything else lol….and I must confess….my wardrobe also consists of yoga pants, yoga pants, and more yoga pants!

Going camping soon, so our piles of laundry will look very similar. Going to try and not think about that!! I love watching my hubby read to the kiddos too.

What IS IT with Squinkies?!?! Tiny squishy globs shaped into various animals and characters that come in a plastic ball – but my daughter LOVES THEM. Wants to sleep with them. She’s 2.5. Not a good idea.

love your lil’ chalkboard! One of those would be great to list the family’s events for the day every morning because, let’s face it, no one reads the calendar but me!
