We need to talk.
Before you get to watch the video, I would like to share a few thoughts, k?
- This is the first video of a three part series (before, during, after). FYI.
- I talk with my hands A LOT. I should have sat on them.
- I should have worn lip gloss. Or something.
- Oh boy. Girl has gained some weight. Boo. I mean, you know how when you know you’ve gained weight, but it isn’t until you see yourself in pictures or videos that your eyes bug out of your head and you have heart palpitations and need to breathe into a paper bag? And you kinda want to crawl into a cave and never come out again? Yeah. Good thing we’re on diets right now anyway. Boo for diets. Bigger boo for gaining weight. Yay that I’ve already lost 8 pounds since the filming!
- The film guys kept telling me to “act happier Jeannett!” and I was like “Dude! I’m totally happy! I’m being chipper! If I’m any happier, I’ll look like I’m on speed!” And then I saw the video. Oh. Now, in my defense, what they don’t show you (oh the movie magic!) is that those interviews were at the end of a long day of working…we’d run upstairs and change shirts, freshen some make up, and rush right back down. Not to mention that by the time these happened, we had BUSTED BUTT for three weeks before doing all the painting and prep work. We lived, breathed, ate, drank, kitchen painting. So I was really really really exhausted by this point. I felt like I was being happy and chipper!!! Anyway, just a disclaimer that I’m usually not so monotone and weird. I think. Andy says I look mean. Ugh. Now all three videos will look like I’m the Wicked Witch of the West.
- That scene where Andy and I have to kiss? Oh. Just oh. Can I tell you that it took over 20 minutes to get that shot? We were cracking up. We couldn’t do it without bursting into full on giggle fits. I mean, I don’t mind PDA, but something about a scripted “Kiss Your Husband Because You’re So Excited To Start Your Kitchen Remodel” was a bit much for me. I’m holding my breath trying to pull it together. Film Dude says he isn’t sure how we managed to ever have three kids. (As an aside, I would just like to say that after that “kissing scene” I have absolutely no idea how people film those other kind of movies. Just a note.)

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

you all look really cute. i was kinda cracking up watching the video after i read your intro. i thought the kiss looked legit, but it smacked really loudly on my computer which also made me crack up. you are too funny. p.s. about the lip gloss, i made the mistake of not wearing lip gloss to a city council presentation and watched the video later…can i just say, night of the living dead. it was scary. you look much better than i did. jealous for your new counter tops. i was telling jason about them when i read your last post about the project.
that was a really cool video, its weird that i know you in real life and i’ve been there! haha.
okay, the story of the kiss made me laugh so hard because i just love you guys soo much and it just makes me happy (: can’t wait to see the next videos. you’re beautiful sister btw.
Hey! I think you look fine! I LOVE the shots with the kids and henry peeking over the counter at one point! The kiss looks legit although the mic was turned up probably loud! I didn’t notice the lipgloss missing! I can’t wait to see the next two parts! You guys did a fabulous job on the kitchen! I love it!

Seriously, you are too hard on yourself – that was great!!! You look great and of course the kids are adorable. I have to agree about the kiss, but only because on my computer it was a big loud KER-SMACK…hahahaha – me and hubs would have been WAAAAAY more awkward then that though, so you guys did good :)
