InstaFriday – Take 4

It’s InstaFriday, where I share with you some of my favorite cell phone pics from the week.

Tiny details of my life that aren’t really “bloggable” on their own, but a fun way to document what we were up to.

(I have an iPhone and use the Instagram app, but anyone can link up their cell phone pics!!!)

Saturday I met my little sister at Cal State University Channel Islands (no, it’s not on an island!) for Admitted Students Day!  Yay Marcia!!!

The campus was small but beautiful filled with vanilla stuccoed buildings, wrought iron balconies, and spanish tiled roofs.

And wisteria in heavy bunches sagging under their own lavendar weight.

Spring is here in sunny California, and for $3.99 I’m happy to welcome it with a glitterific door sign.

My breakfast usually consists of two cups of black coffee, but sometimes wandering the aisles of the grocery store, the sugary nostalgia of my youth beckons.

Would now be a good time to tell you that this was MY breakfast?  My kids had oatmeal.  With blueberries.

They can have sugar in a bowl when they’re 30.  Kidding.  Kind of.

We’re working on letters.  I see my perfectionist tendencies coming out in full force.  The way he holds the crayon drives me batty.  Batty.

Like, I feel a crick in my neck and my palms start to sweat.  Not healthy.

I call these my Irony Shoes.

Because they’re running shoes.

And yet, have never been running.

I wonder if they feel unfulfilled?  Unsatisfied?  If they wax poetic about their purpose in life?  Pine away that they were created for more?

Evs.  They can take that up with whatever new owner buys them from a yard sale in a few years.

I can’t decide which I like better: the fact that she’s Swiffering (what?  it’s not a verb?) or her cute piggies?

I cannot get over how much I love my kids.

And this big girl is pulling up to standing like a champ.

I am so so so proud of her.

This girl has me crying tears of aching joy so often.  You really have no idea.

This is my new favorite find.

I realize it only take 0.0002 seconds to toss a dryer sheet in.

For me, it’s the constant bending over and picking them up all over the place after they come out of the dryer that kills me.

I swear they multiply like little wispy rabbits!!!  I think I’ve picked them all up and there’s another over there!!!

This is a sneak peek of a project we’re working on.

I don’t want to ruin the surprise so I won’t say much.

But isn’t is just gorgeous?!  EEK!

I’ll end InstaFriday with a Mother’s Confession:

I was hidden in the UPSTAIRS bathroom while my kids played downstairs…so that I could eat the ooey gooey deliciousness of this yummy Easter treat in peace.

So I could savor the gross egg yolk-y looking inside.

AND NOT SHARE ONE BITE.

I have no dignity.

And now…LINK UP!!!!

I want to see the details of your week in low-res photos!!!

And, how cute is the new InstaFriday button???!!!

{Thank you Julie!}

Grab one, link up, and visit eachother!

Happy Friday!!!

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

I’ll have to figure out this whole new-dangled linking up thing, but I just wanted to say a few things:
    1. So nice to see that school for the first time- every time I drive by the sign, I wonder if it’s on an island. Now I know.
    2. Where did you get the crystal knob? I’m looking for some for Katie’s desk. Gorgeous.
    3. I love your kids, too, even though I never get to see them anymore now that I’m not teaching Henry’s Sunday School class. We need to hang out more.
    And finally,
    4. Love me some Cadbury Eggs!! I’ve never found another person who will admit to liking those things. You go, girl.

Lovin seeing Miss Jilly standing so strong!!

I too locked myself in the other room many a time to enjoy the delicious goodness of the Cadbury egg. Haven’t had one yet this season…my new goal for the weekend..of course only after my run!! ;)

Don’t stress about the holding of the crayon…it will come to him later…promise.

If you have to eat sugary cereal, Captain Crunch isn’t too bad. It’s made with coconut oil instead of soy or canola. I have it in my cupboard at the moment too. :) And I’ve never taken a picture with my cell phone, at least not on purpose. I’m old school like that.

Jeannett, no worries over the crayon grip – we rarely saw 7 year olds doing this in second grade. It’s a development thing and they change their grip as they grow. I too, enjoy stolen moments with chocolate. And I love those darn eggs. And your BABIES have gotten all grown up on us – without permission, I add. Yay for pulling up to standing!!!
