Changing it up a bit…

(source)

Maybe you’re new here, or maybe you’ve been a reader for a while now.

And maybe you’re wondering what this is all about.

“Life doesn’t always go as planned.  Help others anyway.”

What’s with that????

You see, this is my personal blog.

My life…the good, the bad, the ugly, the random.

Probably mostly random.

Last year I got this idea that I would take the time I spend blogging…

and DO SOMETHING GOOD with it too.

I started hosting a different guest blogger every 2 weeks.  Every 2 weeks she selected a charity that we all fundraised for.  And there was a giveaway to go with it.

I did that for about 9 months.

And I was BEAT.

Because it meant I was literally fundraising every. single. day.

And I was constantly switching things out, changing gears and jumping from one thing to the next.

It felt quite schizophrenic.

And I was pretty exhausted (there’s A LOT of behind the scenes work)…

but I knew I loved the format…I knew I loved doing more than telling the world about trips to the park and whatever color I just painted my bedroom walls.

Not that there’s anything WRONG with any of that…just that I wanted to do MORE.

My time is valuable.  Blogging is therapeutic.  I love it.

But at some point, I felt like I needed to truly live out the Gospel in some way…even if it was behind a screen, in my pajamas, and in a very 21st Century way.

My very own digital lemonade stand.  Except that there’s no lemonade.  And your nickels will all go to something much more worthy than bitter sugar water.

So…all of that to say that I took a short fundraising break to re-evaluate, take stock, and figure some stuff out.

The Cliffy fundraiser was by far the most successful and personally rewarding.  I know that a lot of it was because of it being the holidays and such, but in general, I liked that it ran a while longer and had a variety of voices.

Long story short: I’m switching things up a tad.

Instead of a bunch of little, short fundraisers, we’re gonna do just a few bigger, longer fundraisers!

There will be an overarching theme/topic.

Guest bloggers from all walks and corners of these here internets will lend their voices.

They will share their version of Story.

They will take you with them on their journey…you will laugh, you will cry, you will leave encouraged and humbled.

And through the tears and heartbreak, you will end the post Glorifying.  Because that’s what life is about.  Right?

I know I can say that because this next group of bloggers is downright PHENOMENAL.

I am truly humbled that they have agreed to participate.

I’m still in shock at the “sure, count me in!” emails I got back.  For real.

The list of bloggers is a secret.  You pretty much need FBI clearance to know who’s all signed up.

Or not.

But I’m still not telling.

You’ll have to stick around to find out.

If you haven’t already, now might be a good time to subscribe…just to make sure you don’t miss out.

We’ll start tomorrow.

Be there or be square.

I’m excited.

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

Ah, I loved the Cliffy fundraiser. My favorite of all. Squishy yummy cutie boy. To see him loved on and taken from obscurity to hope and HOME – Oh yeah.

And that lemonstand stand picture? I may need to get remarried (to Chris) just so that can be a part of my reception!

Jeannett, I love what you do with your blog. It’s such a great reminder of what truly matters. And of the blessing that comes when we are obedient to Christ when He calls us to utilize our gifts and talents. And I’m so excited for your next fundraiser. It’s going to be great! :)
