Look, somedays, the blog thing is random.
Somedays I just gotta pile a bunch of stuff together and none of it makes sense but…
well…it’s my blog.
And my life…random.
A lot.
I made my own laundry detergent yesterday.
I’ve been meaning to try it out for a while now, but never got around to it.
Until Julie sent me this recipe.
I did all of our laundry with it yesterday.

The LAST one in the store.
All is well and right with the world again.
I know that’s really blurry.
But you see, it’s because I was somewhere between laughing so hard and so disgusted, I couldn’t hold my phone steady enough.
Yesterday, I’m chatting away on the phone with Mique. Doing that wandering around the house mindlessly thing.
When I came upon this scene.
And stopped dead in my tracks.
What is it?
That would be…a piece of dry dog poop.
On my kitchen table.
I’m not 100% sure, but bets are it was deposited lovingly by Miss Lu.
I don’t get paid enough for this.
Remember that photo class I’ve been taking?
Well, I’ve been downright terrible about accomplishing my assignments on time.
Faith probably wants to kill me.
But there was an assignment where you had to take at least 5 pictures RIGHT where you were.
I liked the end result. Very true to life, don’t you think?
It turns out that Disney has now come out with engagement rings.
Inspired by their princesses.
Now let’s be serious…I wouldn’t ever spend the kind of money I’m sure these things fetch, but if I could have my pick…
Snow White. I love the band of diamonds.
(The Sleeping Beauty is a CLOSE second, but the band on SW kills me.)

Your blog (random or not) makes me happy :). And I thought I should come out ‘lurkedom’ and tell you that. And of course I couldn’t resist commenting on which Disney ring I’d love (although I would DIE before I ever told a soul it was a Disney ring) … I’m torn between Cinderella & Ariel. And now I shall spend the rest of the day analyzing that and being thankful we have no dog so that I don’t get the surprise of dog poop on my counter.

I might try the homemade soap. That looks fun, and just think of the possibilities of adding that second bar of anything you like – mine would be lavender maybe. Only problem is I just got the detergent related eczema problem licked and would hate to have that rear its ugly head again. Just for laughs, my eczema looks like a funny red spot on my neck, kind of like, well, a hickey. Cringe.
P.S. I just knew you would get it about the comment in Applebee’s.
Oh, and Cinderella’s ring would be my pick.
I continually contemplate making my own laundry soap… maybe someday.

so, so happy you found your mug!! i would totally pick the cinderella ring :)
For the record, I used homemade laundry soap for about a year and it works great. I would suggest putting the soap in with a little bit of warm water before filling up your machine with clothes (even if you are doing a cold wash cycle). Also, if you ever run out of Fells Naptha I’ve used regular bar soap without a problem. It’s weird to have your clothes smell like Lever 2000 but I got tired of the Fells Naptha after awhile. Way to go greenie!!

I love the Sleeping Beauty ring, though Cinderella is gorgeous too…but I’m sure they’re crazy expensive, so unless we happen to win the lottery I don’t think I could get my husband to buy me one :)
