There’s lots of reasons. Tons. But a simple gesture sometimes wraps it all up so simply.
I’ve been sick. Really sick. Up all night coughing my eyes out. Exhausted from not sleeping. My ribs hurt, and I’ve been sleeping on the couch trying to position myself just so.
Last night, I was pretty miserable. Without saying a word he:
- Heated up the leftover pot roast;
- Cleared away the dishes;
- Handed me my prenatal vitamins;
- Put Henry down for the night;
- Brought me my cough medicine, a glass of water, a fluffy pillow and a big cozy blanket;
- Made me a bowl of vanilla ice cream with hot fudge sauce…
- …and made it a point to dip my spoon in the fudge so that my first bite was filled with extra fudgey gooey deliciousness.
It may not take much to make me swoon, but that last little bit of thoughtfulness made me feel like the luckiest woman in the world.
What a good guy you have. You just made me want ice cream. See ya later.
Nice job, Andy! Way to take care of your wife. :) Yay for hot fudge.
Do you need someone to bring you dinner tonight? It’s so tough being pregnant and sick when you can’t take anything. Give me a call if you want dinner, you could even request a specific recipe otherwise I can bring you some vegetable soup or something. :)
WHAT A GREAT GUY!!!!!!!!! Go Andy!
Jeannett I hope you feel better soon!
I’m a week behind you with my b/g twins. I just read your post on the twin belly and wanted to say I totally hear you. Totally freaks me out. Such a conflict between avoiding getting TOO big and the desire for big, chubby, healthy babies. Scary though. Good luck!
Ah, there is that sweet teddy bear side of Andy, beyond his tough guy exterior! Way to go.. every prego mom needs TLC!
LLLAAAMMMMEEE :)
THis is my first visit. Good to make your “acquaintance.”
Congratulations on your pregnancy and great family!!
This is pure awesome! Its lovely how our husbands can know the exact right thing to do when we are too exhausted to ask for it.
