Twins.

Yes, twins.

And I’m not kidding this time.

There are two babies in my tummy. We’re in shock. We spent 15 minutes laughing and crying and saying “Holy Shit!” over and over again. I told the tech “Who has twins???!!! Other people have twins, not ME!!!!”

I *knew* it. I *KNEW* it. I told Lynette yesterday “I have to get this appointment over with tomorrow. I keep thinking I’m having twins, so I need to see one baby and move past it, it’s driving me crazy.” And right before the tech came into the room, I said to Andy, “you know, I’m secretly terrified that there will be two.” To which he responded: “you’re crazy Jeannett. You’d be way bigger.”

The SECOND she touched that wand to my tummy, there was no question. No radiology certificate needed. There were two babies. Yup, two.

The proof:

Two distinctly separate sacs (which is apparantly a good thing).

Twin A. Measures a little bigger at 12 weeks 1 day exactly (which is my actual pregnancy length). You can see Twin B in the background like “Hey Mom! What’s up!”

Twin B. He’s a little smaller, measuring 11 weeks, 4 days. Showing me a little leg.

I can’t believe I just typed “Twin A and Twin B”. Holy moly. Instant Family: Just add water.

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

Holy Crap!! Yay!! Oh my goodness! Seriously?! Twins without invitro are totally rare aren’t they? I just had two little four year old twins come into upper crust last night. They were SO adorable. One was really precocious and talkative, the other was really shy. Too funny. Aren’t you glad you live in an era where it’s possible to find out this early that you’re having twins?
Sorry, I’m rambling, I’m just so shocked and excited for you! =)

WOW. really. I can hardly believe it. Andy said I need to plan and spend my whole summer with you to help! I went back and read your post from 11/24 where you had an inkling of twins. I called Janelle, and she says the intuition of pregnant women is uncanny. She is very excited – another of those who has always wanted twins. Love you all – this will be fine – God is in control, thankfully!

Oh My Word! I was just thinking about your heading, too…God delights in surprising you! Easy for me to smile and think it’s so cute. But I know now there’s shock and maybe even a little grief at what you first pictured when you found out you were pregnant vs. what your reality is now. But you will blessed with double the joy, my friend, and sweet Henry will be a great big brother! Your excellent sense of humor gives you a fantastic head start. Now, seriously, go put your feet up!!!

P.S. How sweet are your babies in their first pictures? Precious.

Hey Jeannett! I’ve been reading your blog for quiet some time, and I must say that I am totally shocked that you are having twins! Do they run in your family? My sister-in-law had non-fraternal twins 2 years ago. She just dropped two eggs one month and that was that. It’s really exciting to have twins in the family. I wish you the best of luck!
