We had our home inspection, termite inspection and mold inspections yesterday. Neither of us were worried too much considering the house isn’t even four years old. But, even still, it was nice to hear that the only “issues” are that one of the GFCI outlets outside isn’t functioning properly (you know the kind that you have in your bathroom that automatically trip…they have the little buttons on them), and there are a few burned out light bulbs in the kitchen. That’s it. The outlet should be an easy fix and cost less than $50 (if we do it at all)…and light bulbs are well…cheap. Oh, and there’s a cracked tile in the kitchen counter.
Everything else is moving along smoothly so far. I’m excited. About owning a home…not about packing. Ick. Three weeks.
And since this is Henry’s blog, he’s doing well. Crawling all over the place, using any raised surface to pull up on, banging his head on things, he even had a little bruise on his forehead. But, he’s learning and exploring and has already managed to get a hold of one of my houseplants and dumped it over. He and Ryley are as good of friends as ever. He giggles and grins the minute she walks in the room and she immediately lays her head in his lap and sighs. Little boys and their dogs…
wow those home inspections are thorough–right down to the lightbulb! so glad nothing major is wrong!!!
packing STINKS. i’ve ALWAYS hated the work involved in moving–i was so happy when we moved into this house because i knew we’d be in it for longer than a year!
very fun. very exciting!
How Exciting! We’re happy for you guys and hope that everything else, including the packing goes nice and smooth for you.
