Anyone who’s had a baby recently knows that the baby industry is booming. There are a million gadgets, whoozits and whatsits…all of which are ridiculously overpriced and most of which are completely unnecessary. One of those things is a Bumbo. It’s a molded foam seat that has a high back and sides and the bottom is angled so that baby’s butt sits lower than their legs. The point of this thing is to allow a baby to sit up…even though they normally wouldn’t be able to. It’s $40 and completely unnecessary. But you know what? I love it and highly recommend it to anyone who has a baby. Sure, you don’t need it. Sure, you can buy a month’s worth of diapers for the same money. Admittedly, you’ll only use it for a couple of months…but save it for future kids and it works out in the end.

He was getting the biggest kick out of his own reflection…until the camera came out..
A half smile. The kid is so happy all the time, but I can never get a good picture!
Watching mom work on the computer.
Hi Jeanette – I found your blog through Lindsey. We have a BUMBO and love it. We also have the tray for the Bumbo (about $10) at Target. We use the bumbo as our high chair when we are at friends houses who do not have babies or high chairs. It works great. We had friends over one night and their two year old sat in it for a booster sit at the dinner table. Anyway, we have definitely gotten our $40 out of the bumbo and continue to use it.
Oooh, that’s cool! I’ll have to get one! That’s a great idea! Thanks!
We had a Bebe Pod for Dillon and he loved it! Like Kristen does, we would use it for feeding him when we would be off at the grandparent’s houses. They are definitely money well spent.
okay am i the only person whose baby hates the bumbo??? i’m getting a little bummed out here that all these babies are so happy in it, and mine wasn’t. :)
Such a cutie pa-tootie!! We love Tesso and can’t wait to see him!
Love,
Tess
i totally want one of those with the next infant.
My 2 year old sits in the Bumbo all the time! Ainsley likes it alright, but she ends up all slumped to one side and she is almost six months. Hopefully it will be better when she is older.
