Just got back last night from the fourth annual Grace Church Family Campout at Lake San Antonio. About 250 people and a lot of fun. I had a good time, and tent camping with an 11 week old wasn’t that bad. Henry did well and was pretty easy going, except for skipping a handful of naps throughout the weekend. And it didn’t hurt that we bought a new king sized air mattress right before the trip! The only hard part was juggling food prep and set up/take down of the campsite between two people and one baby. I really enjoyed getting some good girl time in hanging out on the beach while we all held our babies and our husbands beat each other up on the taco, wake boarding (or attempting to anyway), or just plain harassing each other in general.
Hanging with Dad. Literally. Geez, they look alike!
Saturday night on our way to S’mores. Nice and toasty in his Bjorn and beanie.
Outdoor church service with Dad.
Four year old Sean Martin was just TOO cute. He doted on Henry for hours and informed me that “you need to sign Baby Henry up for soccer…in the fall.”
looks like you guys had a great time. and i totally applaud you for going camping with a little one. i never would have done that–i thought it was a big deal to go to yosemite with a 5 month old and stay in a hotel (hey, we had to pack jarred baby food and i hate having to bring that places) anyway, i admire you and what fun memories for you. oh, and esther thinks henry looks good in his swimsuit :)
so that’s how you camp with an infant… ! :0) Sorry we missed out.
What an awesome time! I wish I could have been there. I love the picture of Henry and Andy with the same facial expressions. Too funny. =)
