Life has been pretty busy for the little Gibson family lately. We had a great Fourth of July…spent the afternoon at the Grace Church picnic and then some friends all ended up at our house and cooked their own food and we spent the evening in the front yard doing fireworks. It was a long day, but lots of fun. Henry slept through most of the festivities though.
Henry and I at the picnic.Yesterday we met up with the Martins, (Chad) Theules, and the Cheneys for a lazy day at Lopez Lake. We took the Sea-Doo and lounged around swapping mommy stories and enjoying the perfect summer sun. Henry did well…sleeping most of the day away. We ate with the group, hung out during Smore’s time and finally headed home at 9:30 p.m. Tons of fun!

Took Henry by Brenda’s office on Wednesday to weigh him. He tips the scales at a whopping 5 lbs. 10.5 ounces! Apparently that’s awesome because it can take 2-3 weeks for babies to regain their birth weight, and he had passed it by 13 days old! I wasn’t surprised considering his constant eating habits! I, on the other hand, have lost 22 pounds! In less than two weeks! WOOHOO! Sadly, I think the other 17 are going to come off a bit slower. Oh, and the 15 pre-pregnancy pounds that shouldn’t have been there to begin with. Ugh. The worst of it is that I’ve been totally pigging out because I’m so excited that I can actually eat food again! I felt so deprived during my pregnancy! I need to cut back…but cheeseburgers are sooo yummy!

jeannett just think of all those calories you’re burning by sitting around nursing…one of nature’s little blessings!!! those pounds will be off eventually, and anyway you look great!

Wow – you are both troopers to take that little peanut out to the lake. I think I’m glad he did not ride on the seadoo. The last picture nearly made me cry (as you can imagine). Can I please have a copy too? Congrats on the 22 pounds gone and the weight gain for baby – nursing is working for you and Henry. Missing all of you – give Henry a kiss from Grandma! Love you all.
