Busy weeks with sweet moments snuggled in the margins of the chaos.
That’s what Instagram reminds me. Every. Single. Week.
(I’m jeannettg if you want to follow)
Dad’s office is on an itty bitty, teeny, tiny airport. (He’s an aerospace engineer.)
Every year, the itty, bitty, teeny, tiny airport has Airport Day.
Pilots display their planes, they BBQ, have cake, and there’s always a bounce house. It’s kinda hokey and small town, but we go every single year. And every single year, the kids have a blast.
And eat cake.
He’d been asking if we had a magnifying glass in the house somewhere.
We didn’t.
So he got one in his Easter basket.
And sneaks in leaf burning any chance he gets. In this case, during the five minutes before its time to leave for school.
Also, I think it’s funny/grown up/cute that he almost always has a bracelet of some sort and/or watch on his wrist. Always.
And a weird ball chain necklace this day. Can’t win ’em all.
Land of Nod slays me.
Every single page.
I honestly NEED this wire bin to corral dolls and stuffed assortments.
Must.
Dad’s been traveling for the better part of the last two weeks. (Dear Ax Murderers, he’s on his way home now. -j)
It’s funny because when my kids were babies, they never slept in our bed. Not hating on folks who do family bed, it’s just not our gig.
But now that they are bigger, this boy sleeps with me whenever Dad goes out of town.
As the sun peeks awake in the mornings, he snuggles deep and I whisper “I love him” and he whispers back “I love her”.
It’s our Thing.
And it makes me swoon.
And then the sweet, soft, quiet moment is over in a flash, and before the clock reads 7, they’ve completed an entire game of Guess Who.
It’s been HOT HOT HOT all week. The sun has been coming in the windows blazing first thing, and it gets uncomfortably warm pretty quickly. Normally, I make them stay in bed quiet until at least 7:00, but it’s too yucky for that right now.
The nice thing about our part of California is that it RARELY gets over 80*. Rarely. Love it. But because the weather is so mild most of the year, no one around here has air conditioning and/or pools. So during those couple of weeks of heatwave, it’s pretty miserable. You can’t get away from the heat.
Yesterday it was 104*. Forecast calls for 74* by Saturday. Phew.
Throwback Thursday.
Little bitty sisters in a little bitty plastic wagon.
Time sucks.
Did I mention it was hot this week?
And that Andy had been gone?
And that his flight was delayed because apparently while we are melting in California, it’s been snowing and such on the East Coast. Weather is so weird.
Cereal for dinner on the patio. Because I didn’t even have the energy to wipe up the kitchen table and floor after Cheerio Dinner.
Also, Porkchop buns. And yes, he pooped on my kitchen floor one day. And yes, I took a picture. And texted it to Andy. But no, I didn’t insta it. Because that’s a bit much.
My life is super glamorous. Be jealous.

Hi! I found your site a few days ago (I can’t remember how I came across it) and have read a bit in my spare moments over the last couple days. I am totally impressed! Absolutely love what you have done here! Can’t wait to read more.
