I know, I know. I named it InstaFriday and all, but here’s the thing: LIFE.
And sometimes, I think it’s healthy to live life even if it means letting stuff on the blog slide. I know that sounds like I’m making excuses, but I honestly believe it. I could have stayed up late Friday night and done the post in the hotel lobby…but I kinda felt like doing that would be forced. Disingenuous. Against everything InstaFriday is supposed to be.
Simple. Everyday.
And sometimes, the everyday moments need to just BE. With no phone or computer or blogging (self imposed) deadline.
So, I hope you understand. And not just understand…but GET IT. You know?
And I hope you can feel the freedom to do that too sometimes. Unplug. Give yourself space. Grace. Room to just BE. With no guilt. (Okay, a little…)
The Bigs found a praying mantis.
Without skipping a beat, they named it Charlie and made it their pet.
I made them let it go before we went out of town though. Apparently you can totally have a praying mantis as a pet, but you need to feed them crickets and such…which is totally fine but we were leaving and I didn’t think it was fair to let it starve to death while we were gone.
Andy found that you can buy them online. Christmas gift…CHECK.
Also, 6 year old boy in a helmet and PJs. This is SO our life.
The Porkchop CLIMBS.
We are a loud, crazy, silly family.
Dance parties in the kitchen happen on the regular.
Jilly and her new found standing trick have now added some pretty fancy moves to them. This is SO Jill. Not only the sass and cuteness, but just how she’s always done things. It takes her FOREVER to hit a milestone…but once she’s done it once…it’s like she’s done it forever. Mastered it. Girlfriend stands all around, everywhere, all the time. It’s fantastic.
I love that I can say to my kids “BUST IT!” and they will immediately start dancing.
I do believe we had some JT playing here. On loud.
And I’m making rice bowls.
Because this is my family.
Dance parties in the kitchen, wearing rainbow jammies, and rockin’ it out.
Not sure if anyone is still up for linking up, but here ya go. :)
Jeannett . . . Sunday, Friday . . . doesn’t really matter! In fact, I don’t even get an InstaWhateverDay done each week. I’m trying, but this whole living, working, and enjoying gig I have gets in the way at times ; )
Love the dance moves! We’ve got a few of those going in our house on a daily basis too. I hope your week is a smoother one. Happy Sunday!
Family dance parties are the best. Can’t say the same thing about praying mantises. You’re the best for considering it for a Christmas gift. Also, Insta-anydayoftheweek , totally get it. Blessings to you this week. xo
Anne´s last blog post ..my week in review: 11/1-7//2013
Yay, kitchen dance parties! The only place my children will ever see me truly dance like no one’s watching. And that’s only because they haven’t figured out how to take video yet. ;)
Mary Woe´s last blog post ..Steven + Timm
I love when you share Porkchop news… I think he’s the most popular little toddler boy on the web! Don’t worry about updating on Sunday instead of Friday… I know you are a busy lady!
hay hay hay.
insta-monday with a side of guilt is waaaaay better than insta-friday with missed memories.
you go gurl.
