I lived a chunk of my childhood on a cul-de-sac.
We live on a cul-de-sac now.
And basically, besides living on a few acres in the country, it may be the next coolest thing ever.
The kids have been spending a lot of time outside lately. Riding the Gaucho round and round and round. Lucy with this ultra serious face. The entire time.
Lucy on the phone. Making important calls regarding tea parties, baby dolls, taking over the world and such.
And yesterday, they decided that the little tray (that’s supposed to hold a canteen for jungle adventures) in the back was perfect for babies.
At least they’re rear facing. Totally safe.
As a side note, my kids think that all babies come in twos. It is a very rare day that you will see Lu carrying around only one dolly.
Henry regularly goes looking for “the sister baby”.
And we play this game where Jill and I walk up behind them making “woo woo” noises and I cup my hand over my mouth and in my manliest voice: “Sir, pull over! This is the police!”
Lucy is on the phone with insurance. Obviously.
And in my manliest voice, with a blonde babe on my hip, I gruffly demand a driver’s license.
Because having a glove compartment begs to have something to put into it.
And once all the appropriate documentation has been provided and had a thorough examination, in my gruffest voice I exclaim “Alright sir, but you stay safe and drive slower!!!”
To which they drive off into the cul-de-sac sunset…Lucy still on the phone…and within 22 seconds, I’m asked to pull them over again.
It’s a tough life.
that driver’s license is the coolest thing! love it!

So, I see Lucy has her seatbelt on; what about Henry? I love the driver’s license, too. That’s the best pic ever on a license! So fun.

I know! Unfortunately the seatbelts aren’t adjustable, so it pushes him too far back in the seat…and then he can’t reach the steering wheel and pedal. Luckily, the truck doesn’t go very fast and he’s holding onto the steering wheel. :)
You should cover up your address on that license in the photo! My worry-wart alarm went off when I saw that.
that’s pretty dang adorable. love that driver’s license. and sister baby. so cute that you documented this play. its one of those things that in years you will come across and remember all those details of when they were little. so cute. :)
