Insta…Just Whatever Man.

I realize I’ve kinda fallen off the face of the blogging world, but there are a couple of things:

1) Insomnia is still hanging out like a true champ.  Melatonin worked for a while, but then it quit.  In fact, even full on Unisom now only works if I take a full pill (as opposed to the half pill I used to take when especially desperate).  So I’m having a hard time getting up ultra early (read: 4:30) like I used to.  Instead, I’m rolling out of bed when the kids wake me, and then it’s Hit The Ground Running with breakfasts, and school, and ALL THE THINGS not conducive to writing coherent thoughts sans interruption.

2) Honestly?  I don’t feel like I’ve had anything to say.  I don’t know if it’s writer’s block, or just settling into life, but gone are the days when I feel obligated to write ANYTHING just to post SOMETHING.  I don’t feel like writing whatever is worth my time OR your time, frankly.  So I’m trying to find a comfy space here that results in more Quality over Quantity.

Anywho, InstaFriday-ish.

(I’m jeannettg on Insta if you want to follow.)

We went camping last weekend.

And by camping, I mean we rented a cottage and did anything but actually camp.

There was a dog wash.  It cost $7.  And sadly, out of order.

At first, I was appalled.  But then, I was like HOW DID I NOT INVENT THIS GENIUS?!

Who am I kidding?  I don’t wash the dogs.  Blue job.  #noshame

When we got home, we were greeted by this.

It didn’t even cross my mind to collapse the umbrella.

For the record, teeny tiny itty bitty shards of glass IN GRASS are really hard to clean up.

Thank you Inventor of the Shop Vac.

Babies in footie jammies who like to explore in the morning dew = dirty footies.

Thank You Inventor of Oxy Clean.

Some day I’ll plan ahead and be organized and pack lunches and backpacks the night before.

For now, I’ll settle for being ready 16 minutes before the bus pulls up.

My kids bicker and fight.

They whine and tease.

They drive me batty.

But underneath it all, Hearts of Blingy Gold.

The Porkchop watches at the window and yells BUUUUUSSSSS!!!!  And he waves as she leaves.

I love how he takes care of her, in his own Porkchop Way.

Next week, we are headed TO MY FAVORITE PLACE IN ALL OF THE EARTH, and we got hooked up with tickets to Mickey’s Halloween Party too.

We took a year off with our annual passes, and we were planning on renewing this Fall anyway, so we’ll pair our Halloween Party passes with our new annual passes.  I’m 100% sure that Andy and I are more jazzed than the kids.

(P.S. our Halloween tickets were given to us by Disneyland #bloggerperks; but our annual passes are coming squarely from our own bank account.  Not that I didn’t try.  #noshame #again)

Yesterday was Andy’s 34th birthday.  So I took fancy cupcakes to the office (except they had gone out to lunch, so I met them at a janky burger joint instead).

Turns out, it was also one of his employee’s birthdays too.  Except he was turning TWENTY four.  24.  Y’all…we are getting OLD.  Like dirt old.  Like when pop stars are no longer the same age as you.  Like when you talk to people who were BORN in the 90’s.

Put us out to pasture, we’re done.

I ran out of sugar.

I thought I was being all crazy and putting brown sugar in my coffee, except lots of you told me that was totally no big deal.

Good to know.

How about you?  How was your week?

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

Awe I hope you get some sleep soon :( As for quantity over quality I get that. When I started Lilly Through The Valley I tried to do everyday and got burned out. One of the things I considered when I switched to Mommas Wonderings is the main focus of the post and that is quality. I blog 3 times a week, (M,W,F), I try to do 1 special needs post, 1 homeschooling post and one free topic post. Oh and I limit the words to my post to 500 max and max 3 pictures. It’s awesome less burn out! Ends up I have more views than I did when I blogged 5 days a week! You have something to say and once your centred (less drained) it will click back into place. Have a great weekend!

I hesitate to comment because I’m sure you’ve had everyone giving advice for insomnia…have you tried Doterra essential oils for it?

The other guy may BE younger, but Andy LOOKS younger. So you get a good-looking guy with a more mature brain! Win-win!! :-)

I’m just catching up on blogs, but wanted to chime in the brown sugar is no big deal. I’ve also been known to use cool whip when I ran out of milk. And one day I almost added coffee ice cream when i thought I was out of milk. Yeah… i have a milk problem I think. :)
