Silly little pictures, with grainy filters are the snapshots into my life.
I often feel like we had such a boring, uneventful week, but then I look back through my Instas and I realize that yes, it was uneventful…but certainly not boring.
I like this weekly thing we do here.
(I’m jeannettg if you want to follow on Instagram.)
I’m kinda obsessed with sushi.
Okay, fine. Not even real sushi. California rolls. But still. They make me happy.
And while I won’t claim that the rolls from Costco are amazing, when my 18 month old steals them from me, refusing to eat the hot dog I bought him for lunch, it leaves me with a hot dog for lunch.
So I’m 33, eating a hot dog and my baby is eating sushi.
And even asking to dip it in soy sauce.
Annoying little hipster kid.
Speaking of hipster kids.
We finally downloaded some fun music onto an iPod for Henry’s skateboarding sessions, and this girl promptly stole it. She wandered around the neighborhood, periodically stopping in her tracks to bust it out with a killer dance move.
And occasionally to air guitar.
Because my husband only instills The Best in our children.
Look, I wish I could embrace my pasty white self and be all 21st century I’M SO FINE WITH MY BODY AND IF YOU AREN’T THEN THAT’S YOUR PROBLEM. And then they’d create a video that would be shared on Upworthy, and I’d be a 12 second internet star.
But you guys. I have a fancy wedding next month. And I’m like seriously the light bounces off my legs white.
I tried this. Pricey, but when you consider a single spray tan is the same price, it seemed like it was worth a shot to perhaps get more for my money.
There are no before and afters, because no, but it worked! I probs need to do a second coat on my legs, but my face and arms looked tan and not orange. Mind you, I exfoliated like it was my JOB and read amazon reviews to insure optimal performance, but whatever. Self tanning is serious business.
Selfies crack me up. Look at me all wind in my hair, warm sun just so, all cool and chillin…and you can see my arm and my phone reflection in my sunglasses.
FAIL.
But really, on Monday I was draaaagggginnnnnggggg. Zero energy. I don’t know why. I could NOT get my act together. So at one point, I finally grabbed a giant blanket and laid it on MY FRONT LAWN and laid there while my kids played.
My neighbors probably think I’m crazy. It’s whatevs.
If he was any cooler, he’d bring the Polar Vortex to California.
I love the way his crooked little smile and silly little teeth line up all funny when he yells “chhhhheeeeeeeese!!!!”
Also, $1 sunglasses in hipster colors for babies are the best.
Owen calls the chickens “chi chis”.
The last thing in the universe I think of when someone says chi chis are chickens. Which makes your baby saying it innocently, one million times cuter. Because it sounds wildly inappropriate. Except it’s totally not.
Seen here, they are feeding the chi chis flower blooms from my plants. Fantastic, kids. We didn’t plant those for a reason or anything. Go ahead. Just feed the freshest, sweetest, newest blooms to the chi chis. Wait. That sounds bad.
See?! It’s fabulous. Chi chis. Say it with me.
RULES:
Link up your Instagram account below (for example, mine is http://instagram.com/jeannettg). I’m not talking about linking up a blog post, but your actual Instagram account. (although you can totally link up your InstaFriday post too if you did one.)
If you link up, follow at least 2 other people who linked up. (I will too!)
The idea? You get to follow cool people from this community (my favorite) AND you get a few new followers yourself!
***NOTE***: for some silly reason, you can’t select a photo using this method of linking directly to an instagram account. If you see something about a 500 error, it doesn’t mean it won’t work, it just means that it can’t find a picture to link to. If you have a photo you want to use for the thumbnail, click the “Upload from computer” or “Direct Image URL”. Otherwise, you’ll just have the blue frog thing as your image. Which isn’t nearly as fun as seeing your smiling face.
LOL feed them to the chi chis!! I don’t know why that’s so funny…

Not sure if you planned it, but I love that man wearing a t-shirt that says “RICE” in the background of Owen eating his sushi. You might be able to win some sort of prize for that one! :D
