InstaFriday

I love me some weekends.

Dad’s home.  We get family time.  Plus, I have a new baby to celebrate (not mine, a friends’ shower sheesh!) and there’s some kind of ball game on Sunday.

I was kind of quiet on Insta this week.

Apparently we were a pretty boring lot.

Either way, we share the little moments that make up big lives.

Join us?

(I’m jeannettg if you want to follow)

Glitter = the best kind of messes.

I got my crafty pants on for a bit this week.  And glitter was the star of the show.  It was nice to do something creative for a bit that didn’t include folding laundry or cleaning toilets.  (Although I did those too.)

If you have a Trader Joe’s nearby, heed my advice: DO NOT BUY THESE ITEMS.

Because they are good.

So good.

And make a tasty snack.  Like the kind of snack you can quickly sneak while the kids are in the next room so you don’t have to share snack.

When I asked an employee where to find the cookie butter, this is what she said: “Oh, you’ve never had it?  Okay then.  My condolences.  Because you’re about to gain ten pounds.”

CURSE YOU INTERNET.

We’ve gotten out of our Farmer’s Market habit, and I’d like to reinstate it.

Henry had just gotten done at the skate park, so we walked across the street to the market where I spent as much on snow cones and churros as I did on fresh, local produce.

It’s basically a wash in terms of nutrition vs. preservatives and red no. 5 this week.

Target has my heart.  Truly.

But this “new” (at least I’ve only noticed it in the last year or so) clearance nonsense is driving me batty.  Marking something down 15% is NOT clearance.  It’s just not.  It’s a crappy sale price.  But NOT clearance.

Clearance is 50% or more.  My love language is 75% off.  And I practically cry tears of joy when I find 90% off.

Quit screwing with us, Target.

You’re messing with our hearts.

This is a lousy picture of my girls.

For several reasons, one of which being they are in a zombie like state staring at the TV.

But I still had to snap it.

Twins.

Jill in her bright yellow peacoat, pigtails and patent leather mary janes.  Lucy a sweaty mess of curls, dirty jeans, and a helmet.

Jill can rock the messy pigpen look like a champ, but this moment had me cracking up.

I love that even with a giant sectional sofa, they chose to sit so close they were touching.  They aren’t always the best of friends (mainly because of the developmental differences), but they love each other in their own way.  And moments like this restore my faith in their sisterhood.

Link up your Instagram account below (for example, mine is http://instagram.com/jeannettg). I’m not talking about linking up a blog post, but your actual Instagram account. (although you can totally link up your InstaFriday post too if you did one.)
If you link up, follow at least 3 other people who linked up. (I will too!)
The idea? You get to follow cool people from this community (my favorite) AND you get a few new followers yourself!

***NOTE***: for some silly reason, you can’t select a photo using this method of linking directly to an instagram account. If you see something about a 500 error, it doesn’t mean it won’t work, it just means that it can’t find a picture to link to. If you have a photo you want to use for the thumbnail, click the “Upload from computer” or “Direct Image URL”. Otherwise, you’ll just have the blue frog thing as your image. Which isn’t nearly as fun as seeing your smiling face.

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

Love that pic of the girls. So sweet and so funny. Yeah.. cookie butter, that stuff kills. Seriously I steer myself clear when I’m at TJ’s because it’s sooo tempting!

Target has always had that clearance schedule. I think it’s still considered clearance because it won’t ever go back up to regular price, it will just continue to go down. Their clearance schedule starts at 15, goes to 30, then 50, 75 and on some items 90(!!!). When you happen to come across stuff newly marked down at 15%, that’s the time to hide it behind some towels over in housewares and come back in a week. ;)

Yep. We all hate fake sales. My favorite are the fake Black Friday sales at the fabric stores. Sorry guys 10% is NOT a Black Friday sale. My local quilt shop has a section where older fabrics are 10% off all the time. Let me know when you figure out 50%+ is a Black Friday sale.
