If you follow me on Instagram, you know that Jilly had a seizure yesterday at preschool.

She was sick over the weekend, and fell off a chair and hit her head.  Both of which are seizure triggers…so basically, it was as if the seizure planets aligned.

Her teachers were AMAZING.  There is no doubt in my mind that their quick thinking and alertness to her subtle mood changes were instrumental in her quick recovery.

It was the shortest seizure to date (less than 30 minutes!) and took the least amount of meds to stop it (only 3 rounds…usually takes 5-6).

As she was coming out of her seizure, I whispered to her.  Trying so hard to console her.  She only seemed to pause and calm unless I talked to her about cake.  So…on the way home, we swung by the grocery store and bought her her own cake.

She was too tired and groggy to eat any last night, but today….today we will have cake.

This morning she is alert, happy and mostly her normal self.  (Usually she is hysterical, inconsolable, and so weak she can’t even sit up on her own.)

Thank you friends (both in real life and internet) for your prayers and support.

Thank you Regusci’s for texts that tell us dinner is ready and paid for…we just need to swing by and pick it up.

Thank you Lynette and Tess for jumping without question when you see my phone number calling.

Thank you modern medicine.

Thank you, most definitely God.

You are good.

Always.

No matter what.

And you know what?  For as shameless a plug as this might be…November is epilepsy awareness month.  We need more research.  Donate to our team page here if you haven’t already.

Yesterday was proof of how important funding is.  50 years ago, my girl would not be downstairs watching Disney Channel wither her brother and sister the morning after.

Money doesn’t change the world.  But it helps.

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

So happy so is okay and has a wonderful teacher. My brother had this happen when he was in 1st grade and it was a horror story my brother and my mom went through with the school. It is wonderful to see that teachers understand kids needs better. My prayers ar with you and your family.

I was scrolling through these pictures today with Pandora playing in the background. Picture after picture of the most precious, pink tutu- wearing girl in a place that just doesn’t make sense. And somewhere down the page, I heard the words of the song playing in the background. It said:
    “Two things you told me
    That you are strong
    And you love me
    Yes, you love me

    Your love is
    Your love is
    Your love is strong

    The kingdom of the heavens
    Is now advancing
    Invade my heart
    Invade this broken town
    The kingdom of the heavens
    Is buried treasure
    Will you sell yourself
To buy the one you’ve found?” (Your Love Is Strong by Jon Foreman

So just know, someone in Oakland stopped today and prayed for you and your family… that you would feel God’s strong, strong love with you. <3
