I know, I know.
It’s late.
Again.
Lo siento.
The kids and I snuck out of town on an impromptu whim. And then, when I called Andy to say we would be getting on the freeway for the 3 hour drive to head home, he said: “Why are you rushing back? You have all day. Let’s be serious, you’re just going to clean the house and do laundry. Stay for the afternoon and take the kids to Disneyland. Life’s too short.”
Twist my arm.
Except that then we pulled in really late last night and the hubbub of getting kids’ off to school this morning kicked InstaFriday to the curb.
So, really…sorry, not sorry.
Because Life.
And isn’t that what InstaFriday is really all about?
This week Henry brought this home from school.
He proudly showed it off to his dad, exclaiming how it’s a picture of his favorite airplane.
The A380.
Say that out loud: A380.
Now see how he labeled the plane.
Kids rock.
I love the cheery, bright colors of Spring and Summer.
But Fall and its rich hues are pretty awesome too.
Especially hideous Charlie Brown pumpkins.
Boys.
Honestly.
He was even making little light saber sounds.
Because his brother.
And because boys.
I love her, I love her, I love her.
Especially when she does this when you yell “Super Jilly!!!!!”
But she is in that stage where playing = arbitrarily emptying out drawers and bins. The other day, I can honestly say that there was not one. single. room. in my house that didn’t have A LOT of stuff strewn around.
And I had picked up.
Several times.
I love her, I love her, I love her.
Also love: this purse.
I’m having a serious hankering for an actual, real, nice purse.
For the last 6.5 years, I’ve been carrying around a diaper bag and/or a fun fabric tote.
But now that that season in my life is coming to a close, I’m wanting a really pretty purse. Something really nice. Something kinda splurge-y.
Except that this one was $299.99.
At TJ Maxx. And was apparently $499.99 regular price.
There’s Splurge, and then there’s Oh Heck No.
Sadly, this beauty fell in the second category.
One of the days, I took just the two bigs to Disneyland for a few hours.
It was fun to have special time with them and no stroller or diaper change stops.
But it also meant I got stuck riding all this tummy flopping nonsense since there were no babies to sit out with.
I’m smiling. Yes. But I hated its guts.
Lucy…what you don’t realize is that the second the ride is over she jumps up and down yelling “THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!! LET’S GO AGAIN!!!!”
As much as I can do without rides that make your stomach take up residence in your throat, I hate L.A. traffic even more.
Times a million.

That was the greatest thing for a husband to say (aside from I’ll make dinner). All guilt free and stuff. I really thought that you looked like you were having fun on that ride. I guess it’s hard to tell the difference between the cringing smile and the loving it smile. In that shot you look like you are the one having the most fun! LA traffic is the least fun. It keeps me mostly in San Diego County. I love hockey and have only dealt with the traffic once for a game, in the last 5 years. Hate it.

Girlfriend. You and I are in the same purse boat. I got the hankering for a nice purse and just got a “big girl purse” at TJ Maxx this weekend, but it was not NEARLY!! as much as the one you picked out! I think TJ Maxx is the BEST! PLACE! to! BUY! A! BIG! GIRL! PURSE!!
