InstaFriday

Every week seems SO busy.

And I often forget to slow down to enjoy it all.

But then I look back at my instagrams, and I’m reminded of how much love and sweetness was tucked in there.

(I’m jeannettg on insta if you want to follow.)

Summer schedules are kinda killing me so far.

This is what I had to jostle awake to pick up Jill from therapy.  Right smack during morning nap.

Mid afternoon nap was a repeat…to pick Lucy up from preschool.

Poor kid.

But the toes and the bottom all scrunched up?  It’s almost more than I can bear.

A few more shots from Henry’s birthday party.

It really was a lot of fun.

I bought a case of Gatorade and a case of water for the kids to drink.

This was how we got the ice chest from our car to the shop.

In related news, he’s so stinkin’ cute.  That face slays me.  Also, he has the world’s most perfect eyebrows.

Now that the newborn fog has lifted, and I feel like I’m MAYBE starting to get my bearings and actually behaving like a normal human being…I can actually wear cute clothes.

I mean, not EVERY DAY because let’s not overdo it or anything, but it’s a process.

My new pink and gold necklace from Caroline G?  I want to marry it.

Just you wait until I show you the mint and gold one.

It might even inspire me to wear cute clothes like TWICE a week!
IMG_4845 Summer nights playing basketball in the driveway are the best.

Ending it with some Mochi ice cream is my favorite.

Ryley has a haaaard life.

It’s super sad.  Having to lie there.  Get her picture taken.  After the injustices of a haircut and shampoo at the groomer.

Henry found my projector from my old drawing days.  Old, as in, pretty much high school.  OOOOOLLLLLDDDD.  Ancient times.

He holed up in his room with an airplane book and then announced that he was setting up an art gallery.  Appropriately named “Henry’s Art Gallery”.  In my hallway.  Right.

He specifically asked me to take a picture next to his “artwork”.  Later, he used post it notes to price each of his masterpieces.

When I made some comment about how it was fun to see him using his imagination and playing, he got really serious and told me that “No, Mom.  These are for sale.  When people come over to our house they can see my gallery and buy my art.  And I’ll save the money to buy something cool.”

A) I have no idea where he ever heard of such things as art galleries and the notion of buying art.  Folks, we’re about as much into Art as we are into breeding aardvarks.  Or something else even more random.  These new fangled schools and all their new fangled ideas!

B) His artwork ranged from $1.00 to $50.00.  High hopes kid.

I got radishes in my CSA box this week.

Instagram told me to slice them and soak them in ice water and eat them with salt.  It was so yummy, said Instagram.  Delicious! decreed Instagram.

Instagram is a LIAR.

So, when you blog for a while, your inbox starts to fill up with random emails from random companies asking you to tell your readers about all manner of random.

Translation: you get a whole lot more spam.  It’s super fun.

But every once in a while, you’ll see the words “Disney’s Monsters University” and “etnies”…and just as you’re about to hit delete, you decide to read it.  Then you see that they want to send your kids character shoes.  And you’re about to hit that delete button anyway because you’re really not into character shoes AT ALL.  In fact, when your boy tried to buy Spiderman shoes last year, you plied him with promises of candy if he would agree to the plain shoes.  Don’t judge.

But I was intrigued at the idea of a respected skate company partnering with Disney.

I am SO glad I didn’t delete!  You guys.  These are possibly some of the cutest shoes in the history of shoes.  Sulley’s arms wrapping up???  I die.

The whole line is here.  Love the Mike Wazowski version too.

(P.S. I wasn’t required to blog about them…but obvs that’s what they hope I’ll do.  And these are too fun to not tell you about!)

Good thing etnies sent me some shoes, because it looks like this kid is officially a walker.

Which is super annoying.

Lu and Hen walked really early too but I was secretly hoping the Caboose would be happy to be carried around longer.

If ever I thought he was hard to keep track of before...I’m so hosed.

Also, he likes to steal things from his siblings.  Because his mother hasn’t taught him manners yet.

Okay, your turn!

How was your week?  Grab a button, link up, and visit one another!

Oh…and just a quick note: next week I’ll be hosting a series that I think is important…and there will be some high value giveaways, so you might want to check back in, kay?

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

I’m following you along on Instagram and read all the commentary on the radishes. I was actually thinking about trying it this morning (it’s the one thing in our little garden that we can harvest at the moment). So, it’s no good? That’s a bummer. Love the cute shoes, and your babies are adorable!! ~ Thanks for the fun link-up, it’s one of my favorites!! Have a great one :)

I have never heard of radishes being eaten like that, ever. I have always just eaten them when they are harvested at the right time, or sliced them and put them in a regular garden salad. You know, with dressing, not just salt. Also the shoes are super cute, and my kids love Monsters Inc. We have no character shoes, hardly any character clothes even. There is a chance I might consider these, slight.

I am so excited that I FINALLY got it together to join in the fun. I’ve been trying to since the end of April. Hooray for accomplishing a goal!

Your little ones are so cute! As for the radishes, I’m not sure I would have tried them that way.

Thanks so much, hope to join again soon!

I totally get what you’re saying about character shoes…bleck! Those are cute though :) Don’t you love the surprises you get with your CSA loot? Part of the fun is trying out something new and different…usually it is a hit–sometimes it is a miss. Sounds like those radishes were more of a miss…better keep to the tried and true salad route.

Sorry the radishes were a bust…if you get more, instead of slicing them, just cut the ends off and then soak in cold water. Then add salt and eat, that’s how I do it :)
