InstaFriday

Sorry I’m crazy late today.

We’re down visiting family and staying at my grandma’s house (Burglars, Andy’s still home.  And he’s the scarier one.  FYI.).

You know what happens when you try to mix a great grandma’s house full of knick knacks and a 10 month old boy?

Not one millisecond of down time unless you want said knick knacks to be dust.

Boys are nuts.

Nonetheless, I’m still here…sharing the simple, sweet, everyday moments that made up our week.

I’m jeannettg on Insta if you want to follow!

You know what ticks me off?

Itty bitty ketchup packets.

Who the heck uses only one of these?  And who the heck wants to tear open 24 of them just to get a good fry to ketchup ratio?

Last Monday was Memorial Day.

I saw this pop up in my stream.

I’ve often thought about the sacrifices our boys pay…and never thought about epilepsy being one of the lasting consequences. As an epilepsy mama myself, this breaks my heart.

When is Jesus coming back again?

Decades Day at school.

Thank you Halloween costume from two years ago for saving a slacker mom’s butt.

He likes to be held.

Particularly by the mama.

She often obliges, being that he’s the caboose and all.

But sometimes she just can’t.

And it’s almost like death.

He finally calmed down.

Like his big brother, he needs a blanket to sleep.

Henry, however, had his special Stinky Corner Blanket.  It had to be the SCB.  HAD TO.  Nothing else would do.

Owen?  Anything.  Even a page ripped out of a magazine.

Makes my life a lot easier.

Projects.

Also, she dressed herself.

Aforementioned projects meant clearing out some drawers and reorganizing.

Upon which I found some old baby pictures…of HENRY.

My boys are twins.

I’ve always wanted a pair of Vans.  Always.  But being raised by my grandma, meant she couldn’t afford name brand shoes.  I rocked Payless like no one’s business.

At 32 years old, I finally got a pair of Vans.  In sunshine yellow.

I cannot tell you how happy this makes me.

Plus, they were only $14.99.  So it’s like doubly perfect.

(P.S. The Payless of today is NOT the Payless of my youth.  Those shoes are expensive now!  Sheesh.)

Not on sale were these purple glitter versions.

That I think we NEED for the epilepsy 5K walk we are doing in November.

NEEEEEED.

It’s pretty much non-negotiable, right?

(Purple is the official color of epilepsy awareness.  And glitter is the official color of awesome.)

Your turn!  What’dya do last week?

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

    Burglars, what?!

I laughed when I saw Owen’s magazine lovey in my Insta feed, and I laughed again when I saw it here today. Love it.

When my kids were toddlers, my mom went out and bought a glass coffee table, with no corner protectors. Like, the corners of the table were glass weapons. That was no fun for me. Ugh. Grandmas.

Love your yellow Vans. (I’m the same way if I see Converse.)

    Have a great week! xo

I hear ya on the knick knacks. I’m a personal lover of the cute and tiny breakables. We had family visit with 2 tiny ones and trust me… no matter how little room there is on the top shelves, you can make room for the stuff on the bottom 2-3 shelves. Even if it means boxes.

Love your commentary each week on instafriday. It cracks me. It is so those things we all think as a mommas of littles. love it! And I totally agree with you on the ketchup thing. Ridiculous. However, have you seen the ketchup at Chick Fil A? At ours they have these larger ones that you can either squeeze or open for the kids to dip. My kids love them. I may or may not grab extras for later. But I wont confess. : ) Have an awesome week!
