Whoa.
I haven’t blogged since SUNDAY. That’s kinda crazy.
But, life has been good busy. Lots of people visiting. Daddy off of work. Lots of new toys to play with. Lots of new toys to find homes for.
The very limited screen time has been nice.
This is why I could never be a professional blogger. I like to be flaky sometimes.
Well, really…I like to squish this little pork chop is more like it.
I’m telling you…happiest baby ever.
And he’s found his toes. Which he plays with constantly. And takes the cute factor to a whole new echelon of adorable.
We snuck out for a late night date (after kids were in bed) while we were visiting family.
My all time favorite dessert is a Pizookie…but since dairy is still off-limits for me (Owen gets sick…Henry was the same way…dumb kids)…it’s not nearly as awesome. It’s really just a big, warm cookie. Good, but not quite the same without the heaping scoop of vanilla bean ice cream melting on top.
This is her “smile”. Girl sees a camera and this is what I get.
Her nose? Carpet burn. She gave herself.
She thought it was hysterical to crawl around while dragging her face on the floor because she couldn’t see where she was going and would run into things. I’m talking laughing-so-hard-she-could-hardly-breathe. Apparently carpet burn on the bridge of her nose was worth it.
I love cooking.
I love baking.
I do not love taking the extra time to make it pretty. I just want it to taste delicious.
This is the second time in my life I’ve made cookies that you roll out, cut and decorate.
It may very well be my last. I just don’t have the patience for it. Yet, I could easily spend all day cutting, chopping, sauteing. Leave the pretty-ness to the bakeries.
Jilly got a french braid from her cousins.
Good thing because I don’t know how.
Mom of girls fail.
Are you at that stage in your life where you really have to think of what you want for Christmas?
I mean, there are a couple of high dollar things I wouldn’t mind…but obviously we haven’t won the lotto yet.
This year I asked for a new robe and slippers.
Andy laughed and said he felt like he was married to an 84 year old woman.
I don’t care. I’m cozy.
The girls got baby dolls that came with matching dresses.
They have been worn almost constantly since Christmas morning.
(Lu got Rapunzel…more pics will be in my Christmas post…whenever I get around to it…ack.)
This boy continues to smile.
Because that’s what he does.
The picture really doesn’t do it justice.
I call this Christmas Shrapnel.
All the wrapping and ribbon and bows are picked up. The bigger toys have found homes. But it’s all the random, itty, bitty stocking stuffers and chapsticks and candy that take foooooreeeeevvvverrrrr to put away.
I finally cleaned this up yesterday. It took me an hour. And I kept cursing whoever’s dumb idea it was to buy all these silly tchotchkes in the first place. Oh wait…
Did you insta last week? Let me see!
Grab a button, link up, and visit at least two other linker uppers!
I’m there with you on the robe and slippers. Comfy = good. I try to convince my husband of that when he buys me pajamas. I took a pic of my slippers this week, too! It’s the little things that make me happy. Glad you had a good Christmas! Enjoy the New Year.

Awesome pics! Thanks for sharing. Haha, I remember when my nephew “found” his toes…it is just so adorable when they can easily put their toes to their mouths like it’s nothing. Not a single yoga lesson needed! :)
love the french braid! so happy to link up here… means i actually got my act together ha!
Happy New Year ♥

Poor girlie with her carpet burn(ouch). And her smile? I’ve totally been there as a parent and you just wanna be like “REALLY? That’s the best smile you can come up with?” Oh well.
And I just need to ask: InstaFriday is only for those with Instagram and the ability to take fancy phone pics right(not meaning to sound snotty there; I don’t know how else to phrase it). I don’t have an Iphone, just a basic I’m lucky I can text phone. But if I can be linking up with regular pics Id love to be joining in. Feel free to cut it to me straight:)
Happy Friday!
i’m sitting here laughing because i, too, am wearing my white fuzzy robe with white slippers. let’s call it granny chic.

Yes! I’m in the ‘old lady’ club too … I asked for a canning book, a quilting book, a compost crock and a workout video/t-shirt. So … I’m not only an old lady, but a crunchy granola one at that. Slippers are on my list almost everything single year, but last year I got some ooh-la-la Acorn slippers that cost a pretty penny, but have totally lasted the year and are ready for another one ;). I’ll also join you in the flaky blogging club. Too much life = no blogging. And if I had a squishy baby, I’d just have to take a blogging sabbatical ;). Baking … well, that I love. Cooking not so much … so have me over and I’ll bake while you cook, mkay?
Also, I had a dream about you last night. You had a HUGE party at your house. I did your dishes. For real. Gussy couldn’t make it because she had just had her baby, but then showed up at the end of the party WITHOUT the baby. Rude. Random. That’s what I get for reading blogs at night. But I did smile waking up and thinking about you girlies!!
XOXO!
hey, it’s the simple things, like a new robe and slippers that make mammas happy! looks like a fun week!

I am a baker. I blog tons about baking. I HATE rolling out cookies or decorating baked goods, too! I am so with you. You are not alone! A for effort, though!

I don’t care what your hubby says; Owen is a mini-JG. And those feet? Holy moly. He has cute baby feet! Ack!
I’m done for.
Cheers,
Caryl
I don’t know how to braid either. Here’s to hoping this one due in May is a boy! Happy New Year!
I totally laughed out loud at your Christmas shrapnel picture on Instagram. Isn’t that the truth. Your little pork chop is the cutest, only made cuter by that nickname. I hope you are enjoying all the real time with your family. I’m with you. I could never be a professional blogger. I’m way too lazy!
Happy New Year!!
