InstaFriday

Simple.  Everyday.  Instagram.

What did you do last week?

(I’m jeannettg)

Michael’s was having a 70% off sale on ribbon.

Naturally I bought every color of glitter they had.

Naturally.

(60 cents a spool?!  I mean, really.)

My kids like each other.

Well, they like the baby anyway.

Actually, they all love each other.

But they fight.  A lot.

It’s exhausting.  This picture helps.

I like asparagus.

Sauteed in butter and garlic.

It’s like a hot tub of buttah in that pan.

And it is delicious in my belly.

My new ring from Funky Vintage Lovely came this week.  I have one in a dusty aqua that I wear all the time, so when I saw this peach one, it was sort of not an option.

In other news, I bought one of those Groupon things a few weeks ago for one of those new fangled gel manicures for $9.

The good news about gel manicures is that they don’t chip no matter how many dishes you wash or bottoms you wipe.

The bad news about gel manicures is that they don’t chip or come off no matter how many dishes you wash or bottoms you wipe.

So now I’m kinda spoiled and I want to get them re-done and I don’t have another $9 groupon thing.

Maybe one more time for the holidays…

This little porkchop makes me laugh.

I love that face.

Even when it’s screaming at me.

Because I’m the worst mom EVAH for making him sit while I try to cook dinner.

The worst.

Last night while consoling Lucy after I’m pretty certain she gave herself a concussion (no, really)…I looked over to see this.

I really want to hate my dogs.

The shedding!

But…I have pictures like this of these same 90 pound beasts with each of my kids as babies.

So…I guess I do kinda like them.  AND…if you look close…we actually had the groomers shave them down…our golden retrievers kinda look like labs now…and when they came home with their new buzz cuts I may have done a jig and cried tears of potential happiness.

So far it’s made a huge difference.  We will see.  I’m scared to jinx it.

The Plague is still alive and well over here.

We’re STILL not completely healthy.  The stomach flu morphed into a terrible cold, which morphed into chest congestion and hacking up all night coughs, which morphed into pink eye, that was shared, and came back again…

But we were finally able to get our Christmas stuff up.  Where I was pleasantly reminded why it’s worth all the work of fundraising.

These two little boys will always have a piece of my heart.

And now Yana does too.

Do you know about our fundraiser?  And the giveaway?

Next door to Michael’s we have this great little mom and pop toy store that carries lots of unique toys…most of them educational.  Lots of science-y stuff.

Henry asked if we could go inside “just to look Mom.  I won’t ask you to buy anything.  I promise.”

Well, the kid kept his promise, but I couldn’t resist buying a geode for $2.99.

In the name of homeschool.

Of course.

(Henry is now obsessed…OBSESSED…with all things geode and spent 20 minutes on YouTube watching all about them.  Educational.  Told you.)

Said toy store also had this nativity.

Do you know I looooove nativities?  And I kinda collect them?  (Hmmm…post for next week?)

And we love all things Melissa & Doug.  So this is like my two favorite things got married and had a baby.

I promptly came home and ordered it from Amazon.  (Lo siento Mom & Pop Toy Store…but you were $11 more expensive.  That’s a lot.)

Have you entered this yet?

You totally need to.

It’s good.

You’re turn!  Let me see whatcha got!

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

Hm pretty sure you don’t want to hear about blood spatter so let’s just say work was interesting and difficult and all kinds of crazy this week. My home life was great so I am very satisfied.

Your blog helps me stay sane. So thank you. I’m grateful I found your blog.

    Best,
    Caryl
