InstaFriday

I know, I know.

I never posted last Friday.

I meant to.  Really, I did.

But things got hectic and I’m trying to be a lot better about computer time when kids are sleeping…and since they don’t nap anymore, that basically means I want to get it all done before they wake up in the morning…and last week that wasn’t able to happen.

I’ll blame it on Happy Day.

Stupid Happy Day.

There.

But it all works out because it turns out that I only took three insta pics this week!  So I’ll include pics intended for last week…

I like this kid.

He’s a chill, go with the flow little dude.

And I think he looks pretty cute in that little beanie too.

Rainbow Sharpies were on clearance at Home Depot a couple of weeks ago.

I’m tempted to store these in the fire safe box.

Partially because I don’t want the kids (i.e. Jill) to draw all over my furniture…but mostly because I don’t want them to waste them.

Mommy’s colors.  Get your own!  (that are washable)

A perk to homeschooling?

You can work on math while wearing an Optimus Prime mask.

Why not?

Thank you 90% off Halloween clearance at Target!

Perk #2 to homeschooling?

Pancake and hot cocoa dates with mom.

It was all cold and blustery outside and we had a weird pocket of time before sister pick up…rather than go home for half an hour we spent some quality time over melted sugar and butter.

We’re all about health food around here.

Just another gratuitous baby picture.

I want to eat him up some days.

Our family really needed a break from real life.

It’s been crazy the last…six months?…just one thing after another.  Good things (like new babies) and not so good things (like hospital stays).  But lots of “things”.

So, we took a three-day break from reality.  Stayed in a hotel and everything. It was fancy.

While we waited for dad to go on some of the rides she wasn’t tall enough for, I popped open Jill’s walker and let her wander around.

She really liked the ducks.

Which, are free to look at at the neighborhood park.

Not hundreds of dollars at Disneyland.

Like buying a giant toy and then the kids playing with the box…

Radiator Springs Racers may be the cutest ride in the history of rides.

This was the very end of day 3 of Disneyland.  Can you tell how exhausted we are?

More wandering around.

At one point, there was a little street performance with one of the cars and some dancing ladies…with kids invited to dance along…and guess who toddled her way right into the center?

My little dancing queen.  Cutest moment ever.

Last night I decided to re-read Blue Like Jazz.

I first read it a few years ago, and I remember liking it.

Sometimes I like to read books a second time to see if I still like them years later…you know, as my opinions/tastes/ideas change.  Do you ever do that?

Okay, your turn!  Grab a button, link up and visit one another!

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

Oh wow, all the cuteness makes me happy. And Jill dancing? That is a remember when we didn’t know how things were going to be when she started therapy moment to treasure. (Just pretend there are tons of hyphens in that last sentence/word to make it all make sense.) Have a good weekend!

Your kids are adorable. A firesafe box is brilliant for the sharpies. I get all twitchy when they get left out, and after seeing what Maggie can do with a bottle of foundation and a tube of lipstick, I have no desire to see what she can accomplish with a sharpie.

What an adorable family. The kids seemed like they really enjoy disneyland. Can sharpie pen stains be easily removed from shirts?

  2. […] My dayz November 19th, 2012 Recently and somewhat randomly, I have been hanging out with bloggy folks. Since I don’t really feel part of the the blog world, I’m mostly awkward and a total dork in these social situations. It’s pathetic. Anyway, I’ve met the sassy Hollywood Housewife and she did a thing where you record the events in your day in pictures. I joined in! I tried my best, but I have to be honest, the idea of taking pix of every moment kinda stressed me out. I’m always on the move and I don’t really keep my phone or a camera on me during the day. Quite a few times I would have loved to grab a picture but in leaving to get a camera the moment would have been over and me leaving the room could have caused a meltdown.
