InstaFriday

Our life.

Moment by moment.

Using nothing but my cell phone.

We went camping last weekend.

And I didn’t even take my camera.

Mom fail.

But we did borrow a friend’s trailer…and I am forever ruined.

I don’t know that I’ll ever be able to tent camp again.

Like, ever.  EVER.

It was just too nice.

Owen agrees.

I’ve gotten into the habit of just tossing out catalogs and not even opening them.

The perfect photos of perfect homes with perfect everythings can be depressing.

But since we were camping, and I needed something to flip through, I allowed myself the latest Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware catalogs that happened to come the very day we were leaving.

And I am irrevocably in love with this chandelier.

As in, I’m gonna ask for nothing but PB gift cards for my birthday and Christmas until I have enough to get it.

Catalogs are dangerous!!!

Remind me to stick to my previous habit.

It’s too expensive otherwise.

I am forever telling Jill to leave her brother alone when he’s in his swing.

Doesn’t help when he giggles and grins at her.

Must be the oven mitt.

That she wears CONSTANTLY.

She even wore it to the grocery store the other day.

Kids are weird.

But sibling love is adorable.

I lost my jumble of charms necklace MONTHS ago.

If you know me at all you know that I’m not very sentimental when it comes to stuff.

I don’t tend to get emotionally attached to things and am infamous for throwing things out on a regular basis.

But I found myself all verklempt when I got my replacement necklace in the mail.

It really is meaningful.

All is right in the world again.

I missed it so.

Our annual trip to the pumpkin patch was a success.

I love pumpkin hunting.

It’s only second to Christmas tree hunting.

You should see the behemouth we brought home.

Thing has to weigh at least 200 pounds.  Serious.

‘Tis the season for germs and viruses.

Lu had/has a nasty cold.

But it’s ultra cute to hear her raspy little voice.

Wednesdays and Thursdays are home school days, and I was really worried about how I would keep her entertained and still teach Henry (usually she goes to preschool on those days).

It was actually much easier than I expected.

She felt so grown up doing her own “school work”.

This girl seems to always surprise me.

And of course, when one kid gets sick, another follows suit soon after.

By the next morning, both girls woke up feverish.

So home school was even more of a family affair.

And again, I was pleasantly surprised by how well we were able to get things done.

Granted, I prefer our one on one time…but it worked out quite well.

Your turn!

Happy Friday!

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

I’m the same way with catalogs. And, honestly, sometimes I’m that way with bloggers who only post beautiful pictures and write only about successes. And I’m a little bit that way with pinterest. Seeing things I can’t have or do or struggle to have and do is too much sometimes because I want to see and do and have it all. // I also throw away my college’s Alumni magazine without reading it for the same reason. // Maybe I need to go to therapy… I’m sensing I have issues. ha ha. // Have a great week! I can’t wait to hear about your Endeavor endeavor.

The oven mitt? Made me laugh out loud. Still giggling. Reminds me of when my older daughter was five and we went to Costco with her wearing a leopard print, full body leotard and cat ears. That was odd enough, but then she started sticking her fingers out like claws and hissing at people. That still makes me laugh, too. Kids are little whack jobs at times!
