InstaFriday

My week captured by cell phone cammy.

It’s really my favorite post of the week.  I so often forget the bitty moments.

Lunch with family.

Not low fat.

I think it’s official.

I lost my Lisa Leonard necklace.

Saddest. Day.  Ever.

I’ve kept waiting/hoping it would just magically appear somewhere.  Like I would open a random drawer and lo and behold there it is!!!

But no.  It has still not shown up.

The good news?  I get to buy a new one.

The bad news?  Picking just one.

Part of me wants to just replace the jumble of charms necklace I lost…but the other part of me wants something different.

I could sit here all day trying to decide.

Oh the humanity!!!!

Yes, these are the problems in my life.  I like it.

Busy busy busy day on Tuesday.

Had to be in 6 different places before noon.

Dinner had to be quick and easy.

Santa Fe Soup and Corn bake.

Sure it’s more of a wintery/fall meal, but it did the job and let’s face it…any excuse to make corn bake is good enough.

It’s 6:30 in the morning and I pretty much want to run downstairs and make some for breakfast.

Not quick and easy?

Monkey bread.

Well, at least in this case, I guess.  I got this fancy monkey bread pan thing from Williams Sonoma and two boxes of the mix for Christmas…oh…you know…THREE OR FOUR YEARS AGO.  But the directions on the box overwhelmed me so I never made it.

I finally did it this week…and holy moly it took FOREVAH.  Apparently that mix has you making the sweet dough from scratch.  Which apparently is ridiculously time consuming.

The kids LOVED it.  I made it with this for brinner.  (Which was quick and easy).

Next time I’ll stick to the cheater versions that use pillsbury biscuits or something.  Or else my kids will never eat monkey bread again because that was just too much.

Oh hey Owen.

What up?

You really are a chill kid.

Except at night for a few hours when you throw a fit of epic proportions before going to bed.

But you’re the caboose.

So mama has extra patience for you.

Plus you’re awful cute.

That never hurts.

Jilly’s preschool adventures continue.

She loves it.

Every morning we all see her off and everyone yells “Bye Jilly!!!!!” and neighbors peer out their windows at the commotion so early in the morning.

And Lucy begs to take a bus to school too.

But she wants a pink one.

Okay Mariah.  Anything else?  Perhaps some butterflies painted on the side too?

Sheesh.

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

That baby boy is pretty darn cute! And I’m so glad your Jilly loves her preschool adventure. Makes a momma happy when the kids are happy, right?

That blue tongue cracks me up. Kids are so proud of their blue tongues. // Thanks for the recipes. I love autumn/winter meals. They’re good anytime, I think. I can’t wait to add those to my old standbys. // The bus pic, so sweet. So glad she’s liking her experience. Isn’t it fun to see the kids embrace new things? // Owen. *sigh* Too cute. // Have a great week.

My parents brought me back a necklace from Hawaii when I was pregnant – a mama and baby turtle that is supposed to bring protection to the wearer. I loved it so much and wore it every day. I even picked a turtle theme for my baby shower and the baby’s room decor. Then my cat stole it and I searched high and low, every nook and cranny. But it was gone and I was devastated. But Marc ended up finding it about a year later! Of course now I can’t wear it because William would yank it off my neck but I’m so happy it’s not gone! Maybe your necklace will show up when you least expect it. :)

I am pretty ridiculously in love with my Lisa Leonard necklace. I probably spent 45 minutes to an hour going back and forth debating which one I wanted. :)

I made monkey bread completely from scratch several years ago and it’s absolutely amazing, but then I found this much easier recipe for gorilla bread, which is much simpler, and it has cream cheese, so it’s really good. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/gorilla-bread-recipe/index.html

Saw this pin and immediately thought of you. Well, actually…first I laughed, then I felt a little nauseated…but THEN I thought of you. Now that you have a cat and all…you can scoop up all that cat hair and craft with it!!!! Maybe you can write a book on crafting with dog hair, too. Yea, it still kinda makes me feel sick to my stomach…
