InstaFriday

Simple, sweet, silly moments from your week in all their grainy funky instagrammy glory.

You don’t have to use the Instagram app…any cell phone pics will work just fine!

I love these sugary little dried nuggets of deliciousness.

But at $12 a bag they aren’t exactly inexpensive.

I just had a baby.  I decided I deserved it.

Going to an awesome church with an awesome church family?

Love it.  On normal days.  But when a sweet friend brings this gourmet spread?

I love it even more.

This boy.  My mama’s boy.

It has to be ME.  No one else will do.  He can be screeching hysterically while someone is trying their hardest to make him happy…I barely touch him…and he quiets instantly.

My other kids didn’t seem to mind so much who was holding them so long as they were being held.  This guy insists that it must be his mommy.

I secretly love this.  But it can also be exhausting when I could use a break.  Dilemmas.

This girl came down with the flu suddenly.

She was so sad and pathetic.

I just kept praying that it didn’t trigger a seizure too.

Thankfully, it stuck to being a run of the mill stomach flu with no rides in the ambulance.

Yay!

Olympic fever is on high around here.

I figured I’d finally put to use the globe we got as a wedding gift and teach Henry a little about geography while we watched.

(One of Andy’s college professors who had expressed concern with our getting married “so young” with a note saying something like ‘Even though you are still getting married, don’t waste your life by not traveling too.’  It wasn’t quite that forthright, but it was a pretty clear message.)

My photoshoot fail ended with a frantic email to Beth begging her to squeeze us in.

Luckily she was able to come over just a few days later and work her magic.

I can’t WAIT to see what she got.

I read this bookfor the first time a few days ago.

Now, for those of you who will undoubtedly comment about the creeper factor of the book…I totally get it and I totally agree.

But I still bawled.

Because I was reading it to my three bigs all piled on my bed…WHILE nursing my 2 week old boy.

Waterworks.

Lastly, I’m sharing my favorite easy peasy french bread recipe over at Simple Mom today.

Check it out.

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

Linking up for the first time (yay!) and I’m here to say you ABSOLUTELY deserve the dired mangos. Not only are they delish, but practically health food post-baby. I mean when you compare them to what I was craving after my kid was born, they’re like basically kale.
Also, I just moved to a place where mangos grow. Like in real life. I can’t believe it!

My mil gave that book to us when we had our first baby. She gave that book to her mother when she was dying of breast cancer. I have the most loving mil! I can’t not cry when I read it to just thinking of my sweet mil reading it to her mom while she was sick.

I love mangos. Dried mangos are the best, like candy. You totally deserve them. That professor, too funny. Great idea using the globe with your kids during the Olympics.

Love that book! Have you read his other titles! You should because they are super funny! “I Love You Forever” is his only sad book, and it seems to be the only one people know of but Robert Munsch has many titles under his belt. Some of my kids favorites are “Stephanie’s Ponytail” “Thomas’ Snowsuit” and “Smelly Socks” . His titles get the kids and I laughing so hard! My 10 year old still asks me to read them out loud to her now and again, when she was little she asked me every day.

    Carrie R. says:

My mom gave me “Love You Forever” when I was little and it has always been my favorite children’s book. I agree, it has a bit of a creepiness factor. But it is still such a sweet book. I wish I still had the one my mom had given to me so I could pass it on to my boys. But sadly, it was lost or given away or something. So I bought a new one and gave it to them. Not one of their favorite books right now, but I hope that changes when they get a little older.

Can not wait to see the pics!
