InstaFriday

Silly, simple, quirky, fun.

It’s what we do on Fridays.

This week was kinda slow for us…first Lucy was sick…then Henry got it…and now Jill has it.

Sick kids in the summer?  Who can I talk to about this?  Boo.

While running some errands, I came across this creeptastic Dora booster seat.

What. on. earth.

This is wrong on so many levels, I don’t even know where to begin.

Let’s just stick with:  FAIL.

Monday I will be 36 weeks pregnant…which means I’m scheduled to have a baby in 3 weeks.

I kinda panicked the other day when I realized that I hadn’t yet done a SINGLE thing to prepare for this kid.

Not one stitch of clean clothes, not one diaper, nothing.  Nada.  If he decided he wanted to come early, he’d have to wear a loin cloth fashioned out of a pillow case or something.

I finally pulled all of Henry’s baby clothes down and did some baby laundry, and then I remembered soemthing…

THAT BITTY BABY LAUNDRY IS THE WORST EVER FORM OF LAUNDRY IN THE HISTORY OF ALL KINDS OF LAUNDRY EVER.

You fold and fold and fold and fold and somehow the basket is still full.

Oh well, at least I’m sorta ready.

Oh, and we still don’t have a name picked out.

Hello World, meet this nameless baby in a pillowcase loin cloth.

Our regular visits to the Farmer’s Market continue.

This bounty of fruits will be inhaled in a few days’ time…not pictured is the half a flat of strawberries…or the three pack of cantelope…or the whole pineapple…

My kids are lucky we live in California.  If we lived in another state, I don’t think I could afford all this fresh fruit.

Preschool graduation.

With a tassel.

And a DVD.

Someone told me I’d be all sappy about it when Walter graduates preschool…because he’ll be my last.

I’ll let you know how that goes.

This is blurry because I had to zoom way in with my phone above the heads of the parents who came prepared with zoom lenses and such.

But there’s my kid.

You know, the one that had to get moved over next to the teacher because first he kept trying to “eat” his tassel as he swung it all around on his hat (picture when you ask someone to lick their own eye, or their elbow…yeah.)…and THEN, once he got his “diploma”…all rolled up nice and fancy, he figured it would be a good idea to try to balance it on top of his cap.

Clearly he was less than impressed with his achievements.  I try to teach them humility.

The girls did…okay at the ceremony.  Not great, not bad.

But as usual, Lu behaved best for her Daddy.

Because she’s his girl.  He is her favorite.

They look a little bit alike don’t you think?

Sheesh.

“Mommy, why are you making cookies?”

“Because I can.”

“That’s a good idea.  I like it when you have good ideas.”

Thanks kid.

Glad I have your approval.

Now go pick up the 8,000 Legos strewn in the living room.

I know you want this.

Go here and win one.

Now grab a button, link up, and leave comment love on at least two other InstaFridayers!

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

Hey Jeannette! I’m joining your linky today for the first time (so exciting) – and wanted to say congrats on the preschool graduation for your little one! I have that in my photo lineup too, but we didn’t get any robes or caps so you wouldn’t know that the photo was of the graduation unless I had captioned it! Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say that I’m glad to be partying with you today!

That Dora seat is abomninable. EWWW!

I like cookies too. I didn’t do any laundy for Evan until about 36 weeks too. Didn’t want to jinx things.

And with lil bun in the oven, you’ll know a name once he’s born.

    1) I enjoy folding my kids clothes. She’s 3. They’re cute, unlike the Mumu underwear of my own I have to fold.
    2) I heart California.
    3) Are you sure Walter is your last? Heh. My mom was 39 and had The Last One aka #5. (I had #1 and only at 38-1/2).
    Cheers,
    Caryl

  23. 23

I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that the Dora carseat is an attempt to help parents remember not to leave their kids in the car on hot summer days or forget them at a pub like the UK Prime Minister did.

  24. 24

that Dora carseat is absolutely terrifying..
