InstaFriday

Random, everyday moments that make up your week.

It’s what we do here every Friday…but only using cell phone pics!

I use Instagram (I’m jeannettg) but any cell phone pics will work!

Here’s what we did:

Grandma Tina sent each of the kids a $5 bill inside their Valentine’s Day cards this year.

They were SUPER excited to hand the money over to the checker.

Have fun with that kids…when you work for that money, it’s not nearly as exciting.

Now move over, mommy has to pay for the rest of this stuff in the cart.

Go. to. Costco. NOW.

Today.  As soon as they open.

I normally don’t even really like biscotti but the second I popped one of these in my mouth from the sample lady, I immediately grabbed a tub.

Which may or may not have been empty by the end of the week.

(All of us ate them…not just me!)

Lucy has taken to laying in this little box of sunlight that pours in through the playroom door.

“Mommy, it’s cozy and warm!”

Like a cat.  Only with the gracefulness of an elephant.

But she makes us laugh…every day.

Henry asked to butter his own toast the other day.

You know, because he’s getting big now.

I had to literally walk out of the kitchen as I watched him eat it.  I really thought I was going to puke.

We had a fancy schmancy dinner thing with one of Andy’s clients this week.

Feeling bloated, ugly and less than svelte, I declared that I was at the very least going to have pretty toes and fingers.  Maybe that would distract from…well, everything else.  (You know those girls that are just darling when they are pregnant?  Yeah, well, I pretty much hate them.)

As I sat waiting for my nails to dry in that weird blue light table thing, I got to stare at the fancy selection of acrylic nail decor.

I think #23 is really quite lovely.  Super patriotic.  And imagine all TEN flags waving proudly as you go about your day.  Enough to make a grown man cry from country loving pride.

(For the record, my manicure consisted of filing my short natural nails and painting them…nude.)

And then I groaned audibly at the gas pump this week.

The bad thing about having four kids?

You can’t drive a cute bitty little 40 mpg car.

So, when my total came to just pennies below $100…knowing it’s not yet hit its peak…I seriously wondered if I could make rickshaws work for us.

It’s California…I think we can make it happen.

Okay, now it’s your turn!

What’d you do this week? Grab a button, link up, and leave comment love on at least two other InstaFridayers!

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

Yeah… it costs me the equivalent of $140 to fill our 1.6 litre small family car. Stupid England. I would LOVE those gas prices!

I LOVE that she found a patch of sunlight to call her own! (Grace of an elephant — lol!) And WOW, your gas is so expensive! I’m saying a little gas-prayer for you from Missouri, where gas is under 3.50 most days lately. And I thought THAT was unbearable!

Thank you for hosting this link-up! Fun!

I’m headed to Costco tomorrow and will be looking for those and trying not to eat them in the store because you know there is nothing more attractive than a 7 month pregnant lady with cookie crumbs on her belly ;)

At least Henry actually ate bread with his butter. My boys will grab a stick of butter (yes, the entire stick) and munch down. Of course, I hide the butter from them.

I’ve also walked in to the kitchen to find that my 2 year old used a stick of butter to paint the counter, a chair, the utensil rack, and a pitcher of KoolAid. There was also butter floating in said Kool Aid. Couldn’t do anything but laugh.

The picture of your daughter lounging in the sun is just hilarious to me. And your description of her being more like an elephant than a cat. Ha ha!

Boy, do I feel your pain about gasoline. We don’t have any littles yet, so we are still able to drive the “itty bitty” cars, but filling them up is costing more and more. We’re in Northern Ca. Didn’t realize you were in CA too. And congratulations on your new baby!

The “warm and cozy” photo is great. It’s cute she seeks out the little ray of sunshine coming in. The butter on the toast (was it toast under it?) is just like my 5-yr-old. So gross! He would eat butter if I’d let him. I live in a small rural town in Texas and I’m an outcast because I don’t have acrylic nails. Never have and never will, it’s just not my thing. That photo had me laughing hard because I’ve seen most of those designs in real life, for real!

Being a So-Cal girl, I have been feeling the pain in my wallet too. I hear that it could be as high as $6.00 this summer. Yikes! Love your pictures every week, so much fun.

I am addicted to Biscotti…going to have to try that one!! Ok not complaining about the cost of gas here in MD. I am sure it will be up to $4.00 by memorial day but it’s not quite there yet.
