InstaFriday

If you follow me on Instagram (I’m jeannettg) maybe you noticed that I’ve been a little absent the last week…and then suddenly BOOM this morning, there were like 10 in a row.

Procrastinator much?

It’s whatevs.

But I really thought it would be fun to give you a little Christmas tour of my house…Insta style!

Our Jesse Advent is chugging right along…only two more bags left!!!

My mantle makes me happy.

A fake mistletoe ball and Truth.

Love times two.

Put a bird on it.

(Watch that.  Cracks me up.)

I spy with my little eye, the sweetest little face.

(We’re over $5,000!!!  EEK!)

I smile every time I see this.

Every. Time.

Any of you remember this?

My grandma used to work at a Nursing Home and they had one of these little sets…the little dudes hit the bells in these complicated sequences playing different Christmas carols…I’m super impressed by the technology…this is old skool!

When I saw it at a yard sale a few years ago for $10 I *had* to have it.

Nostalgia makes you spend money on interesting things…

I like me some nativities.

Having been raised Catholic there’s just something about a nativity that has to be really elaborate and detailed.

It’s just the way it has to be.

I still really want this one though.

And I loooove this little Mexican nativity.

I think I’ve decided that I want to start collecting nativities from around the world.

How cool would that be?

I love that the kids have their own nativities to play with.

Not just because it keeps them from messing with my breakable ones, but I love watching them set it up, and move the pieces and put it all back.

Plus it’s a really cute set.

This year, Miss Lynette gave the kids a second nativity…Veggie Tale style!

Merry Christmas to you and yours my friends!

Grab a button, link up and have yourself some fun and lots of love with your family this weekend.

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

I have totally thought about collecting nativities too! I love them. The set in my living room has a Jesus that looks like Dan Quayle, and a shepherd that looks fair and british. I would love to find a set where the folks look like they are from that part of the world! Merry Christmas – and thank you for thinking up the wonderful Instafriday idea – it has been super fun for me!!

VeggieTales Nativity set? Genius!! Love it :)

I love the tour. I grew up Baptist and we didn’t have a nativity. My grandmother made ceramics and created this huge nativity. My dad built her a large wooden stable to place the figures in. I remember every year I’d spend countless hours rearranging the figures. I loved that nativity. When my grandmother passed away it was the only thing I wanted. She hadn’t put it up in years so we weren’t sure they still had it. We found the figures but in cleaning out the garage my aunt threw away the wooden stable. The figures have some missing fingers and the animals have missing tails and toes but I still love it. It sits in my living room on a shelf and one day maybe my dad will build me a new wooden stable for it. Now that I’m Catholic the nativity has a new meaning for me. We also have the Little Peoples set for the kids. My 3 year old loves it.
