Phew.
THREE posts in a day???!!!
Hold me back people!!!
But we can’t miss linking up our favorite sweet everyday moments can we?
Sunday we made it out to the local Christmas Tree Farm and picked out our favorite.
She looks pretty all bedecked in our living room.
But I still always feel a little weird…”it’s so pretty and perfect! let’s cut it down!!!”
Clearly not that bad. But at least a little bit bad.
Then Henry, Lucy and I rode this wagon train contraption thing.
It was fun.
For the kids.
I, on the other hand, kept thinking “there is NO WAY this thing has been inspected, licensed and properly administered…this can’t possibly be safe.”
Like a carnie ride. Only more homemade.
Cuisinart has come out with a rainbow of appliances recently.
Except you want to know what drives me absolutely BATTY?
That they’re not lined up according to ROY G BIV order.
STRESS.
Would it be so hard to put them in the right order???!!!
I started the Hunger Games series last week.
And finished the Hunger Games series last week.
SO good.
So so so good.
Except for the ending.
Look, I realize you can’t create a world with that much chaos and destruction and dysfunction and tie it all up in a pretty bow at the end.
That’s fine. I’m not criticizing what actually happened in the end.
But it felt like…after being sucked into 1,000+ pages of excruciating detail…what things felt like, smelled like, looked like, sounded like…the ending was RUSHED.
The whole series is boiled down to like two paragraphs.
REALLY Suzanne Collins???!!! Was your ride there to pick you up and you had to finish???!!!
Like that time you took the SAT essay test and you got all into it and suddenly the test administrator yells “FIVE MINUTES!!!” and you realize “ohmygosh! i gotta wrap this thing up somehow!!!”
Exactly like that.
Annoyed.
Cream of wheat.
Brown sugar melting in the swirls.
Nursing home life will serve me well.
What color would you pick?
That might not be rhetorical.
Especially if you WIN THE ONE I’M GIVING AWAY.
Go. Now.
How about one of these?
It’s even nicer than my big girl camera.
True story.
And I had to pay for mine.
If you win this one, you’d be two up on me.
It’s easy. You should go check it out.
Okay, now it’s YOUR turn!
Grab a button, link up and leave comment love on at least two other linker uppers!
And, please, if you wouldn’t mind, consider giving to Xander’s fund this Christmas…if this isn’t what the blogging community is all about…I don’t know what is my friends.
Love your blog! Linking up for the first time!
LOVE this hunger games trilogy! and i totally jive with what you’re saying, but that epilogue was awfully sweet. i’m such a sucker for happily packaged epilogues ;)
and yup, feelin’ ya on the non-roy-g-biv order, too!
happy friday!
I loved the Hunger Games until book 3. I begged people to read them, until book 3. Collins is a military brat and she was trying to be realistic to the implications of war and violence, but what I got out of it was hopelessness. Yeah things change, but once your are broken into a million pieces there will always be parts of you missing and you can never be whole again. Nice message for our youth, not!
in other news, I love, love, love, my immersion blender. I use it several times a week.
I’ve heard of the hunger game series, but have yet to read them.
I miss REAL LIVE Christmas Trees!!! But it’s all good… I just have remind myself of the no clean up, and no more critters crawling out from the tree. Spiders to be specific.. EEK!!
I do believe I would pick a turquoise one! I’m really digging turquoise these days. :)
LOOOOVE Hunger Games!! You do know there is a movie coming out, right? Yeah. Excitement. I understand about the ending… but maybe it’s not the end? Hmmm…
And now I must go enter your awesome giveaways.. thank you very much.
Happy Friday!
I have yet to read Hunger Games, but EVERYONE says it’s amazing…guess I need to try them out! :)
i’m totally with you on the ROY G BIV thing. that’s just rude.
I love the green or turqouise mixer. LOVE.
And I LOVED Hunger Games but thought the same thing about the rushed ending. I’ll forgive though because at least I liked the ending. :)
i read the whole trilogy last week too. i completely agree with what you said about the ending. i mean POOF … it was over. maybe they will stretch out the ending in the movie?!!? we can only hope i guess.
First time comment, been reading your blog for like, a year, whoops!
LOVE the Hunger Games. Read all three of them 2 weeks ago as well. But really, how else could it have ended? Was is just the fact that it ended to quickly? Was it the horrible feeling that nothing will change? Or are you team Gale :)
Love your blog. just love it.
Merry Christmas!
Kirsten
I’ve just started the last book of the Hunger Games series…so I had to skip past your post about that lol. I don’t want to know what happens, but now I”m all scared that I won’t like it. :D
Those immersion blenders are gorgeous. And why, oh why, aren’t they in the right order?!?
Love the hunger games. I am going to reread them before the movie comes out.
that cream of wheat looks so yummy
I linked up for my very first time! Thanks for hosting :)
It would bother me with the whole ROY G BIV thing as well.
I have the first book from the Hunger Games on my Kindle (I think I do at least) now I am scared to read them all, but I must to see if I feel the same way.
Thanks for hosting! Off to visit other links and meet new friends!
I’m with you on “The Hunger Games,” but so happy with who she ended up with. I didn’t realize who I was rooting for til it happened!
I’m reading The Hunger Games right now. I’m almost finished with the first one. Now I’m curious to see what the ending is all about!
